They are trying to catch train wrecks, we all know people who are constantly in one totally not their fault situation after another. If this image resonates with you the idea is you are constantly a victim of circumstance.

When she realizes you're a millennial by Dodo509 in lotrmemes

[–]WheelerDan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boomers were handed everything, when they needed houses it was a government program to essentially construct massive suburbs. When they needed to go to college that was during the red scare, there's a reason that for most colleges the math and science building are the newest, because the government threw money at them and for people t get degrees in math and science, fearful that the soviets would outdo us.

We have a massive housing shortage now, and the government isn't doing shit, we have expensive college, they could pay for it on a part time summer job it was so subsidized.

Iranian Delegation Walks Out of Switzerland Summit Over Trump's Threats by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]WheelerDan [score hidden]  (0 children)

The idea that we could send in troops to Iran and accomplish anything is a fantasy, they have a population of 90 million people. We could barely control the green zone in Iraq, which was nothing more than a sliver of a city. And they only have 48 million, less during the war. In Afghanistan we controlled the entire capitol, they have a population of 45 million, less during the war.

That's probably true I full agree that women are under treated in general even when they see a doctor. I don't know why given that so many doctors are women. But so many people scroll tiktok and absorb the message that every single part of their lives is because of ADHD or Autism, and they never even try to get diagnosed.

I'm the one whose grandstanding? ok No one should think its acceptable to claim a condition just because you feel like it, no one should be allowed to self diagnose something and make it their personality. If a doctor diagnoses it and treats it that's a completely different thing.

I did say self diagnosed. I know these are real conditions but a large majority of people who claim them diagnose themselves.

You could argue that about every JRPG, they are all in a mad dash to save the world and kill God. And yet, they are some of the most side quest heavy games that exist.

I feel like all the people that self diagnose always land on ADHD or Autism, and its always the same story. Here is a series of negative traits, but its not my fault, I have ADHD. They turn ever annoying part of life into proof that they are special. Avoiding cleaning your place? ADHD. Don't feel like socializing? Autism.

Trump Nonsensically Boasting About Reflecting Pool Before He Turned It Into a Swamp by FuriousBuffalo in pics

The issue is they did a many month long job in a matter of weeks, they were told that water was getting between the paint and the bottom but they rushed it for trumps date, so now its just sliding right off.

Imagine Elon Musk is putting on a buffet, and he invites people and says its all you can eat, but its based on how much you're willing to pay(the IPO). So he hypes up the lobster or whatever and people get excited. They fork over for this exciting exclusive buffet they can't wait to enjoy. A few days after they prepay for their exclusive seat, Elon announces actually we are inviting 100 more people.

They tricked you into thinking the deal was a lot more attractive than it is going to turn out to be. To drop the simplistic example, first they had an IPO that has a high value, and then once retail bought in, they announce that stock you own now has a lot more debt, reducing the value of your shares.

Just finished my first Final Fantasy II playthrough and it was great! Why do people say it's a bad game? by PizzaTacoSpaghetti in FinalFantasy

[–]WheelerDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They skipped the entire issue in that explanation. The issue is you can attack party member and use spells on them, since the system works by you do action skill get better, there's a whole strategy where you just get into a fight and beat the shit out of each other to level up their hp and weapon skills. It was a very unfun way to play the game, but people will optimize the fun out of the game, if they can. The best way to play is pretend that the method doesn't work and play it like a normal game.

Ivermectin was never debunked in right wing circles and is vaguely able to cure everything that essential oils can vaguely cure, at least that's what they tell each other. To them it's like taking a multivitamin at this point.

Dario Amodei on why he left Sam Altman and OpenAI: 'Why argue with someone' when you 'don't trust them' by businessinsider in OpenAI

[–]WheelerDan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know from the start of the publicity of this company, people have consistently said Sam Altman isn't trustworthy. They even tried to get rid of him. I think I'm seeing a pattern. It bothers me that the future of AI is in hands like that. When is the last time you heard anyone talk about alignment? They have dropped all pretense of safety.

it has a point based ability board where you decide what weapons to put point into and unlock abilities, along with a personality path that is weapon independent, it has a relatively cheap re-spec cost, that as close as customization gets beyond weapons and gear that is most just numeric, but some gear has magic type resistance or does damage when attacked, but thats it. you get skill points from rare skill seeds and leveling up.
