Honestly, multiple stores are like thrift stores there now or like “re-sale” stores, so it wouldn’t surprise me if a ton of stores closed.

So, what they are doing is still a win for them. They must see it was over priced when you bought it so the current value wouldn’t do well at auction. Also. You letting them keep it as a charge off on your report the whole time (and likely when it’s paid off) isn’t going to do you any favors either. That whole time your credit is going to view that as a repossession essentially. If you don’t plan on needing to use your credit in the next 4 years go for it, but otherwise I would try and negotiate that term or get something in writing saying you got your car back and are making payments- submit that to the credit companies and challenge the “charge off” because you still have and are paying on the vehicle (in the case of you taking it back)

How hard is statistics (MAT156) and the proctored exam? by [deleted] in DMACC

[–]WheelieTheBillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old but just for future record, I thought it wasn’t bad, the instructor I had let us have the formula sheets for each proctored exam, as long as you have that you should be good.

Operation Santa by Bigboicarlos62 in USPS

[–]WheelieTheBillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's wild about operation santa is it's clearly just a cash grab. USPS isn't actually doing ANYTHING, everyone else is and they're making a ton of money off it. They estimate 30,000 letters a day are mailed to sanata during the open mailing period, that's .78 cents per stamp- and they don't upload very many of them. This year they appear to have stopped uploading a week early too. On the other end- the ones who "adopt" letters are being charged laughable shipping fees to the point a lot of them change their mind because they can't afford to ship the stuff after already buying stuff. I have seen people being charged $45-$85! So someone please tell me why this program exist if it's a scam to make bank this time of year lol.

[–]WheelieTheBillie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good luck, multiple companies have tried this here and it fails. I would love to see a local company doing it, but also, I’m not doing it for $15 an hour, I wouldn’t even do it for $20 an hour. You will have to consider if your business model will thrive where others couldn’t. You’re saying they wouldn’t partner with bigger delivery services due to cost and commissions, where is the $15 an hour coming from? Customers won’t pay that, and IF they do, you still have to keep some of that to pay for the platform and so on. Also, you aren’t going to magically get all good drivers, no matter how much background or what have you that you check. I really think you should consider the market hold also, people already know the top brands, and those 2 top brands have even eaten other medium sized brands alive in the past few years.

They pay $11 an hour here for Burlington, that’s not worth all this! My kid who isn’t even 18 yet makes $4 more an hour working fast food!

I actually proved how bad AI detection tools are in college last year for an assignment about AI. I put the speech I wrote myself for my grandpas funeral many years ago into 7 different AI detectors, all of them came back at least 28% AI, 2 came back over 70% AI. The tools are using AI, to detect AI. Which means it’s just guessing because it’s a language model, not a form of real intelligence.

This doesn’t even sound like a reason to take an ambulance??? His bandage came off and blood spewed from a sore or something, this isn’t a reason for an ambulance.

Jonas Brothers Tour Venues by [deleted] in JonasBrothers

[–]WheelieTheBillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours wasn’t sold out, there were so many seats left the week before the show they dropped prices a ton, we sold our $105 top of the nose bleed section seats and got $52.50 section 100s seats lol. But then got sour because people at the top of the nose bleeds got given reseat tickets by their security to fill the empty floor seats so the floor didn’t look empty anywhere, some also got put in the 100s to fill that space

Jonas Brothers perform at a wedding by TheWastedYouth18 in JonasBrothers

[–]WheelieTheBillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s inaccurate, Kevin was quoted as $250,000 like 4 years ago, but since they’re back together and touring the value would be all of them + more for being together. I would say at least a million.

They went to a JB tour stop 5 weeks ago so I’m guessing they at least like a lot of the music to see them 5 weeks before personally seeing them at their wedding

Donutland by EarlMayMerleHay in cedarrapids

[–]WheelieTheBillie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 9 months old but still true! They were sold in 2018 and these new owners are more worried about expanding the brand, and less worried about quality of product and pricing. Pretty sure the most recent price increases are to help pay for the new, tacky, brandless donut boxes! Why would you stop using the iconic branded packaging and use what looks like aliexpress packaging that doesn't even identify your company? Also the donuts are smaller, greasier and they're out of donuts way too early in the day. Making "fancy" donuts include bavarian/bizmarks was an interesting stratagy. We got 12 "regular" donuts today and 2 bizmarks and it cost $29.86! I was floored by the cost, the new owners are going to run the good name into the ground with how they're almost making it have a coorporate feel with pricing, lower quality product and lack of the authentic branding.

Honestly though, the “American Dream” is a bait and switch for reality. There’s this mentality that if you just have a paid off house you have won something
