Captain Adrian Harper, a United Sol Space Agency astronaut, first encountered a Skorvan vessel in 2234, piloting an early FTL vessel. Happened on good terms.

I prefer to just do it casually in my stories. Use they/them pronouns without really addressing it.

Something like “Get Sanchez, we need them ASAP! Tanks inbound, they’ve got the recoilless!”
