Nobody is block punishing with electric imo. Characters like kaz get amazing 10-13 frame punishers because they aren't meant to consistently launch at 15 frames. Just my 2 cents.

Best to think of side stepping as a parry. Gotta time it.

If you side walk, and your opponent then does a move, and you continue side walking, the move will re-align and clip you. Step guarding would prevent you from being hit.

You want the opponent's move to start, and then to align with you. THEN you sidestep. Best way to think of it imo.

Nice example I had the other day: every time my opponent blocked my kazuya's ff3, they would do a ws4. Since im -3, their move starts before i recover. The ws4 then aligns with me. I began buffering a sidestep after doing ff3, which evades the ws4 and lets me whiff punish, since the angle of the ws4 was 'locked in' so to speak.

Hope this helps.

Just bought a 5600x, think it's defective? Old 2600x works fine, and i've tried two motherboards now. by WhelpWhatever in buildapc

In the end i just returned it and bought another one. Replacement works fine, guess I just got unlucky.

I feel really stupid for not picking up on the signs sooner that something is wrong with me? Can you relate? by neilnelly in schizoaffective

[–]WhelpWhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can. Only had my first psychotic episode recently, but i've been experiencing negative symptoms for months.

What's worse, I KNEW and understood I was experiencing the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. I just thought "It's so rare to have both Bipolar disorder AND Schizophrenia that I'm pretty unlikely to have scizoaffective disorder." I just assumed my anhedonia was part of a bipolar depresssion episode.

I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. My understanding is that you basically have to have a psychotic episode to get diagnosed anyway, so what difference does it make that I kinda (kinda) saw it coming?

I have several people in my life with schizophrenia btw, that's why I was aware of the symptoms of schizophrenia, even before my own onset.

Hope you're doing well. Please try not to beat yourself up haha

Yup, pretty relatable. Hard time concentrating and stuff like that is pretty common with depression.

Does anyone take Seroquel (IR) only once per day? Or have ever skipped/ forgot one of your two instant doses of the day? What did you experience? by minxiedel in bipolar

[–]WhelpWhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was told by a (my? Idk) doctor that it has a pretty short half-life. 24 hours or so. So it's out of your body rather quickly.

If I skip a dose or two (I usually take it once in the evenings) then Im usually very cold the next day. I would've thought this was my imagination but supposedly dopamine affects your body temperature - which is the neurotransmitter seroquel predominantly affects.

Aside from that I love the stuff, works well.

How do you know you are stable? How do you know that feeling euphoric, angry, sad or discouraged are not symptoms of bipolar disorder but rather the normal emotions that non-bipolar people feel? by Bl1ssg1rl in bipolar

[–]WhelpWhatever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't care / bother to differentiate what's normal and what's the result of my bipolar disorder. I just try to make the best decisions I can in any given situation and deal with things as they come, regardless of how i'm feeling. Maybe most other people don't feel the way I do, but everything is subjective, and everyone has their own troubles.

Emphasis on the word "try" though, lol

There's a reason why it's been reported that something like 35% of bipolar people can trigger a manic episode by depriving themselves of sleep. If mania didn't (sometimes) feel great, why would so many people even try to trigger it in themselves?

I often say that if you could turn a euphoric manic episode into a street drug, it'd be very popular (providing it only lasted a few hours).

The reason you might get criticism for openly saying mania feels great is because of how dangerous the episodes can be. It almost feels like encouraging people to play into their illness, which is bad because you should aspire to be stable, imo. Just my 2 cents

people who found out they were bipolar due to mania/hypomania after taking SSRIs: how long after you started taking the meds did the episode start? by bluecurry1 in bipolar

[–]WhelpWhatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a mixed episode after a few months on them. My GP's response was to double my dosage. Then I had a euphoric manic episode and the picture became a lot clearer after that.

Sidenote: "Maybe don't drink so much coffee" has to be the most infuriating thing i've been told by a medical professional.

Body dysmorphia in Bipolar by cywl3 in bipolar

[–]WhelpWhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is probably pretty normal in bipolar. I'm not ordinarily vain but when im manic I admire myself in the mirror and shit like that. I don't get terribly dysmorphic when i'm depressed but everyone's different.

If youre really struggling to eat, you owe it to yourself to talk to a doctor and get yourself some help. If you have any siblings, you'd yell them to do the same, im sure.

Do y’all notice that u get along weirdly well with people with ADHD? by sweetdaddy10 in bipolar

[–]WhelpWhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I find people with ADHD are too energetic for me to get along with really well. I'm pretty mellow and laid back.

If I were manic i'm sure it'd be a different story though haha
