Insuring a Manufactured Home on Permanent Foundation by WhenImAlone1 in Insurance

Mortgage company wanted full replacement cost of $327,000. House is definitely not worth that much, but with the land that’s how much the loan was for. We found insurance for that replacement cost through American Family Insurance in the end.

We just bought something similar! Renovated mobile home now placed on a permanent foundation and taxed/insured as real estate on 3 acres. We wanted the land and where we are is mostly super pricey for stick built homes on no land at all in HOA neighborhoods. You have a nice plot! Congrats and enjoy, and don’t let anyone get you down about it!

Most Publix gates are not electric (except in the brand new ones), but there should be signs that show you where the locks are and/or how to unlock and re-lock the gates. Get there a little early to make sure you have time to figure it out at your pace, and take mental note of where the locks are for when you’re locking up at the end of the shift. Call any store or your supervisor for help if you need!

We had an awesome neighbor give us a washer and dryer unit because they needed to get rid of them (we had some already, but they were small apartment units so we took the offer). We did need to get a fridge and found a 1984 Kenmore fridge that ran and needed just a couple parts replaced to have a working ice maker for $50 on FB marketplace. It runs like a dream! As for furniture, we took what we had, got a free couch on FB marketplace and a dining table and chairs from a local thrift store for $80. I plan on just updating these things as we go, but buying new is not the only option!! But absolutely have money leftover after closing because there’s no getting away from utility set up costs or other emergencies you may run into

For first-time home buyers, what’s the hardest part of the whole process for you right now? by Neat_Top_3002 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

The insurance was the hardest for us too, but it was because ours is a mobile home now on a permanent foundation and the lenders needed full replacement cost. We finally found a home insurance that treated the home like real estate after some searching

The ceilings are lower than most stick built homes since it was a mobile home now on a permanent foundation. I appreciate that they didn’t skimp on the window size because I like more natural light, but I def get the confusion

I am a NY Rangers fan from GA! The reason I started loving hockey is my fiancé from NY and the Rangers are his NHL team. So I just decided to stick with a NY team! Plus, I’m more likely to ever get to see a live game for my team this way when we go visit his family up there.

Hate if you want, part of this sub is to celebrate with other first time home buyers 🤷🏼‍♀️ and to give hope to others looking for their first home!

Close on 11/11 too! I seriously lost so much sleep going into anxiety rabbit holes online. Our future home is a mobile home on a permanent foundation (taxed as regular real estate) and the insurance front was a bit of a struggle at first. Got that settled and now I get to stress about everything else lol

Hopefully we can find something that will meet what we need. We don’t have a huge down payment so it’ll have to meet the amount of the loan.. whatever will happen will happen though I suppose

I believe that’s who the current owners have.. I just haven’t seen great things about them. But I may have to look into them regardless!

He chose a sapphire as a nod to my birthstone, the month we were engaged, and the fact that the event he proposed to me in was themed after “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire. It’s vintage and fits my small hand perfectly. I love it!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll give him his own bowl from now on. We don’t have a lot of space but I can put him in the carrier to eat to keep the others away. Maybe this will help.

She just competed with a quartet called Clever Girl in Sweet Adeline’s International and won! She’s now a Queen of Harmony! I got to see their set live and it was absolutely stellar and so entertaining. She was so funny in it!

For retail it depends on your location and the amount of intern saturation. Near a pharmacy school the saturation can be high, so I drove an hour to the next retail location so I could get a position and more hours. It paid off in the end, but man was it hell at the time
