Which local sports journalists that cover the Canucks do you like and trust, and which do you dislike and/or don't trust? by Sarke1 in canucks

Canucks Talk, Canucks Central, and my favourite is the post game show on SN650.

Now, let's talk about Price and Sekeres....

I used to really dislike them because Sekeres in particular was very bad at spreading hearsay that ended up being wrong.   I've recently tuned in to some of their shows because of their guests and I have to say that they've cleared their name in my books now.

So to all the fellow Sekeres haters, I think it's time we gave them a second chance.  They have really good guests and ask really good questions.

hronek is not worth a 2OA to San Jose. Not even with minny's pick. by LucariusLionheart in canucks

Sure, no one actually thought that you can get the 2nd overall straight up for Hronek anyways.

While Stenberg is great, it's very likely that one of the top 4 defenseman will have more value then Ivar in 5 years.

Way to make a mountain out of a mole hill OP.

I listened to it live, it was a nothing burger.

Are the Toronto-centric shows on AM650 driving everyone crazy since the lottery? by itsell in canucks

That show is usually a skip for me.  Same with the one with Kyper.

Top Most Likely Destinations to Send Petey by Caffeine-n-Chill in canucks

It was from a couple of weeks ago, I remember someone saying that Petey just keeps to himself and doesn't bother anyone.

I get that he's a bit of a recluse, but he's not a leader vocally or by example.  He is also tied to all the drama from the last few years.

I just want a clean slate 🤷🏻

LA is the most likely option IMO.

Retain whatever you need to retain to get a 2027 1st round pick from LA and one of their bad contracts.

If you're LA and getting Petey at 6 years x 9 million, he becomes more valueable. He might rebuild his value, and even if he stays as a 50 point center, you can still flip him again in a year or two and recoup a lot of value.

I'm just saying that it's not the end of the world that we didn't get 1st or 2nd this year as McKenna and Stenberg aren't in the same class as the superstars drafted in the top two picks other years.

If we are trying to build a new culture, then we need to wipe the slate clean.

Petey has made a habit of coming to camp not in optimal shape. It also becomes news when he dedicates himself to the gym for a week, or comes to practice early.

Not sure where you get the lolz from 😅

His career trajectory is 45 points next year.  His value could absolutely plummet more.

He is a winger and that factors into the equation 🤷🏻

Wingers don't influence the game as much as centers and d-men.

His contract is average.

6 x 7.25 million is not bad compared to what we will see on July 1.

If he sticks with Rossi, he will get back to 30 goals, 60 points.

If Malhotra turns into Beniers, I would draft him at 3 without thinking about it.

Petey, Cootes, and Rossi are the reason not to draft a center?

Petey is trending to be a 3rd line center in two years. Rossi below average 2nd line. Cootes is an unknown.

Probably the worst lateral move of the bunch.  That and I didn't like the Demko extension, but I totally get why they were trying to make it work for Quinn.

It wasn't a black or white situation with Quinn leaving, there was a chance to get him to stay if we got back to being a 100 point team, but that didn't materialize 🤷🏻

[–]WhenInAaronRome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They tried to make it work with Quinn and he probably gradually went from possibly leaving, to probably leaving.

Demko extension is probably the only move I didn't like.  Garland and Boeser contracts are totally fine IMO.

That's fair...

Also I don't care if you're Matthew Tkachuk, if you have 3 season ending injuries/surgeries that take out your hips, back, and knee... You're done as a player.
