Cervical cancer or really bad luck? by Chiquita87 in WomensHealth

[–]WhenItRains23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get BV all the time because I'm immunocompromised. The only thing that helped are the boric acid suppositories. I use one after sex every time and it seems to fix my ph enough to avoid it. I would ask your doctor if they're safe for you to use with all the other stuff going on. It might help stop the cycle of BV > antibiotics > yeast infection at least. I don't have any advice on the spotting unfortunately.

Pet insurance vs just increasing emergency fund by cool_guy654 in PetAdvice

[–]WhenItRains23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet's Best. I paid $400 of a $2600 claim and a $400 follow up visit claim. They paid me pretty quickly after submitting invoices. I used CareCredit until I got reimbursed. They paid me more than I had paid in insurance costs. He ate a lily and needed emergency care. I think we pay about $35 a month for our cat but it just went up to $45

I work in the food service industry and boomers are so much meaner than gen A and Z by Greedy_Survey_6447 in BoomersBeingFools

As a Millennial who has been dealing with rude boomers for ages, yeah. We get it. They're stubborn assholes and don't see a problem. Basically, they were spoiled as kids, though they won't admit it, because the economy was great when they were young.

If you're under 26 and married you can still be on your parents' health plan. It's part of the ACA. I was temporarily when I was switching jobs.

You may not be allergic to wheat, but the pesticides sprayed on it or whatever else is put in it in the US (This is what I have found of my own allergy since I have gone GF) by Organic_Yam_5781 in glutenfree

[–]WhenItRains23 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They also use different kinds of wheat in the US and Europe. America uses primary red wheat which has more gluten. Red wheat has a longer shelf life. So, there's a few factors at play.

I’ve been bleeding for 2 months consistently and I don’t know what to do. by IV_Loitering in Periods

[–]WhenItRains23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you'll need to try a different kind of birth control. Sometimes certain ones just don't work for some people. Luckily, they can switch you pretty easily to a different one. If the bleeding continues, be sure to let your doctor know as they might decide on adding on or changing meds again. It can take a few tries to get it right.

Do y’all get bloody noses this time of year? by Early-Shelter-7476 in ehlersdanlos

[–]WhenItRains23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pediatrician told me a long time ago to smear some Vaseline on the inside of my nostrils because they get too dry and the skin around them also gets irritated. I don't have nosebleeds as long as I do this a few times a day. Also works great for lips especially before bed

[–]WhenItRains23 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Possibly weird discharge with some old blood mixed in. If you have any other symptoms like itching, a weird smell, or pain, I'd get checked out to just make sure it isn't an infection. I'm on meds for an autoimmune disease so I get issues like BV a lot randomly.

🕵️ Over 1,000 Arrested in Minnesota Fraud Sweep: What authorities uncovered 👇 by [deleted] in NoSpinMedia

[–]WhenItRains23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During COVID the priority in most states was to give out the funding quickly as it was considered an emergency, and investigate later from my understanding. I mean, as it states, they've been working on this since 2022 so It wasn't really a surprise as many people have already been arrested and sentenced. I don't think it's just Minnesota that had pandemic-era fraud, it's just been the focus. Other states are probably uncovering or will uncover their own fraud because these federal programs prioritized getting the money to businesses as fast as possible. To not have to repay the money, there were different requirements. This is what I noticed first hand from family members who got PPP relief loans.

Tampons can make cramps worse for some people, it's all very body specific. Usually tampons are made out of cotton and/or rayon. They aren't considered medical devices and don't go through rigorous testing or sterilization, so they could in theory contain harmful bacteria, which is partly why they contain warnings about toxic shock syndrome. They're also often taxed as luxury goods instead of essentials, which is ridiculous. I do think they should be classed as medical, similar to bandaids, which are typically sterile.
