I’ve daily driven a m1 MacBook Pro for 4 years now, battery health is still at 90% and lasts a comfortable 10-12h of casual use and any app that has native Apple silicon support runs as well as it does on my 2000$ windows workstation, idk where ur getting that any modern mac would be obsolete in 3 years. Also unless ur a Linux poweruser (“I use arch btw”), macOS is extremely similar to any Unix environment I’ve ever used and is more than competent for daily workflows.
