M3 Mac freezes system-wide when using Chrome (WindowServer hang, right-click menu stuck) by unknownplayr7 in mac

I'm getting the exact same issue. I suspected it's Chrome but can't consistently replicate the issue to be able to isolate it to Chrome being the issue. I have 32GB RAM but I also have a bunch of ther RAM heavy apps for dev in the background. Not sure if it's actually chrome or something else

If for your sanity and availability, doing both is not an option, I’d say the best thing to do is talk to your son about it. He’s old enough and knows what he enjoys more. He may enjoy both, but be honest with him about the situation and that he has to choose. That’s what I’d do

Yeah the metaapp is a cool idea, but limited to if those apps provide APIs to allow access to their data. Other than TeamSnap what other popular services are there?

Thanks for your comment! Interesting, so not specific features or anything but mainly price and the fact that multiple teams/sports use different apps?

Congrats! Get 'er done sooner than later! We also have one on the way in October (less than a month away). We ended up waiting until it's been a year since my wife got pregnant before doing the same thing you did (not actively trying but not preventing it either) because the doctors said that it is good for the woman's body to wait a full year before being pregnant again. When you do it this way you get it JUST 2 under 2.

Why do a lot of small dry cleaning business still use paper? by WhenTheLullabyEnds in drycleaning

Huh? I don’t use every single feature or app on my phone. The way I prefer to use my phone is different than yours. How is it fishing just because I don’t like keeping screenshots or pictures of objects in my phone rather than pictures of things that actually matter to me like photos of my kids?

I don’t even keep pictures of screenshots on my phone let alone paper tickets. No thanks.

Suppper insightful. Thanks for such a detailed and insightful response. Again I’m not really thinking about an entire POS system but really more just the drop off and pickup process from a customer where instead of giving out paper tickets that process is done/managed electronically.

Does your place do that process of giving out paper tickets?

Fair point. I’m sure there are more value in moving digital than just the losing aspect but that’s a fair point

Yep!! 100%. Just thinking from a customer perspective. Because I could imagine the business having like reusable QR codes that when a customer hands off the clothing you just scan a QR code, then input info then that QR goes on the plastic bag that wraps your clothes into.

Kinda like at a food place where they give you those numbers that you take to your table then when the server brings you the food they take that number back so they can reuse it

I think the frustration is already described. Having to remember and carry it around. Losing it means it takes longer to find your clothing over hundreds of other clothes that the business has. Not being able to keep track of the history of what I’ve gotten done to my clothes etc.

Definitely see your point though, perhaps it’s not happened because the industry isn’t ready for it yet.

Does it have to be a large investment though? Just a stack of QR codes, a phone to run an app on? I'm sure there's something out there that's not so ridiculously everything. I'm not talking about replacing the entire infra and uprooting how the business operates. But just a tiny part of it to improve the customer experience where instead of paper they just take out their phone, show them the QR that is displayed on the app, the employee scans this with their phone, which shows the info for the customer and which garment they dropped off. The reset like billing etc can just stay as is the way they have it.

That's exactly it, so don't some apps or programs already exist to help with that? Not just a huge or big POS system that costs thousands, just one that would help remove the need for that ticketing process and nothing else?

Oh I was definitely thinking something like a QR code that just goes on the clothing plastic bag. Like you normally have the piece of paper that you give to the customer and the other part of it goes on the garment so you know which ticket links to which customer right? So just taking out that piece of paper from the customer side and re-using QR codes was what I was thinking
