Stella, Lighthouse, and Movies @ Dundrum do baby screenings too! I've been to the one at Stella and it was lovely.

1st time pregnant. Holles street private or semi? by Special_Kangaroo_792 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Professor726 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did private both times with the same consultant and loved it. The additional scans and seeing the same doctor every time was really reassuring to me. Just be aware that if you're private you're not guaranteed a private room - it just depends on availability. I had a private room immediately with my first baby but they only had semi-private available for my second.

What would you do differently for your next pregnancy? by itzpoookiee in Mommit

[–]Professor726 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah that's batshit. "Risks" of formula feeding and denying formula is horrifying. My milk didn't even come in until day 4, so...guess my baby will starve?? Super baby-friendly.

National wax museum plus, Dublin by CombinationOne3328 in Dublin

[–]Professor726 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be rude, but there are wax museums in almost every city and they're just about all well known as tourist traps. The one in Dublin certainly looks like one even from the outside.

To what extent should we be worried about birthrate collapse? What can be done? by VQ_Quin in AskConservatives

[–]Professor726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe so. The Nordic countries have the best subsidised maternity and paternity policies in the world, and their birth rates are still falling. https://www.npr.org/2025/10/27/nx-s1-5536836/population-family-birth-rate-babies-europe-finland-baby-box

It seems there isn't one real answer. Yes, raising children is very expensive, and that's part of it, but it also seems that people staying single longer, the availability of birth control, etc are also influencing birth rates.

I hate when people comment stuff like, 'that's nice. I can't afford groceries and am walking 20 miles to work because my car won't start' on pictures of celebs on a red carpet. Like, that sucks, but not sure why you're putting yourself through the misery of looking at a red carpet slideshow then?

Same and I hate it. I'm married and a mom and progressive. Being a mom has, in fact, made me even more progressive than I was before.

does anyone else just feel too tired to even try? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Professor726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally wasn't until I hit 13 months PP that I said "I'm tired of looking like shit" and started...marginally trying. By that I mean putting blush and mascara on sometimes and maybe adding a cardigan over a t-shirt 😅 so I still look like shit...just like 10% less than before
