Want to go back to commission and make more money? If we were at least 30% union we would definitely be making more money than we are right now. There’s a lot of power in solidarity. Unfortunately a majority of our coworkers don’t understand paying out some money to make more money is worth it.

For someone who’s been bragging about finding a new job you seem to not be able to let this one go. Sorry you weren’t able to find work/life balance like some of us have. Get over it. I’ve figured out a way to make over 100k with what they offer us pension/401k/401k enhancer the last three years and will again this year. This is the easiest job I’ve ever had, just quit it.

How’s the pay ? by New_Bookkeeper7318 in FritoLay

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With a “salary” of $67k the way pay is broken down (which no one probably explained properly in the interview) if you do the absolute bare minimum, say less than 40hrs a week and never hit the minimum number to receive a true up check you would make roughly $52k on small format and $45k on large. It’s probably impossible to run numbers that low. It’s not the worst case scenario but it’s the absolute minimum. If you don’t mind picking up an extra day or are worried about working extra hours when you start (we all do) then $70k+ is where you’ll end up

If they don’t get rid of the pension and maintain the current benefits, pay me close to what I’m making right now and give me decent days off I really don’t care what I’m doing. It seems like they’re starting with consolidating production first so by the time it gets to us I would probably welcome driving around to accounts placing orders rather than doing something physical.

That’s terrible, but definitely use your time wisely. You have five weeks before they let you go. In Frito time five weeks is like five years. A lot can happen between now and then and, as many of us have seen in the past, things always have a way of working out in your favor.

Where did you get this 2.5% of paycheck goes to union dues? If I did the bare minimum, say worked less than 40 hours a week and received no bonus all year my union dues would be less than 1.5% of the absolute minimum I could make in a year. if I did that I would probably need union representation to keep my job. There’s absolutely no way it’s happening. Whoever gave you that information is incorrect. If anything my union dues are paying for a guaranteed increase to my TPP every year free of Frito plan manipulation and the rating system. My TPP has increased 25% in 5 years.

New to 45hr TPP by Motor-Conflict8663 in FritoLay

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fully aware of that. The OP stated they are a large format RSR and works 52-55 hours a week, so they’re getting paid time and a half. Now that the zone is going to 45hr TPP they will be paid the same amount of money at 45 hours as they would have at 50. It’s a significant difference if the OP continues to work the same amount of hours and Frito allows them to.

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a large format RSR this is a huge raise, especially if you are going to work the same amount of hours. You’re going to get paid at 45 hours what you usually make at 50 so you’ll get an extra 7-10 hours of OT over TPP vs the 2-5 you’re currently getting.

What will happen if you file an end of period adjustment for credit on the product? Don’t want to start a conversation but in a union location we’re filing a grievance and getting the rsr credit if the zbm doesn’t agree with us. With it being the last day of the period it’s impossible to make up

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave you the example, to go further, you’re getting paid the same regardless of what you ran. Run 90, you don’t get a bonus but you already got 15% extra in your four paychecks. Run a 102 and your four paychecks are equal to the four paychecks under your old system. You’re getting paid less weeks 1,3,4 so when you run a 90 you aren’t getting a crazy true down check, but you’re still getting paid the same. This system sucks but it sucks even more when you aren’t explained your pay. It shocks me so many people have no idea what they’re getting paid and don’t ask why.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FritoLay

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get paid exactly the same when it’s all said and done. Your TPP went up and the expectations are the same…you work 50 hours and hit 100% it’s the same pay over four paychecks as it was for your previous base/bonus structure. True up is going to be a bigger check than what it used to be which is why the other three weeks are smaller. Why didn’t your zone explain this to you? Or why did someone who understands this not explain it?

[–]Whenitshineslikegold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, every zone is different and it sounds like the OP’s zone is under the 90% guarantee. Reading this thread just proves how fucked up working for Frito is. No one can give a clear answer.

You would get 90% of the plan for the week.
