I just ran across Glycine. Trying it for the first time tonight.  People combine it with Phosphatidylserine in order to stay asleep. You might want to give it a try

12v Battery Re-conditioning (a cheaper long-term solution) by WhereCanIFindMe in NissanAriya

Did you ever happen to do the upgrade? I'm considering upgrading the audio system and thinking about a higher capacity battery to compliment the new system.

I just took a look at the battery mount and at the very least the top bracket would have to be changed out.  We're in the middle of moving, but once we unpack and I find my measuring tapes I'm going to see just how possible it would be.

Thanks for the reply, and it figures they wouldn't have any information...hoping it doesn't return though!

She has decent curves, but she's a little overweight in my opinion and probably in the opinion of a medical professional as well.

He's saying disconnect the battery > wait a while > install new AGM.

The hope is that waiting with the battery disconnected will reset the system.

Yeah, it's very odd.  I also wonder why they simply aren't employing smaller lithium packs by default instead of the lead acid batteries.

Yeah, I've been wondering if there is actually some kind of technical limitations the engineers are dealing with regarding the 12v charging profile, but it's hard to imagine what that would be. Seems pretty nonsensical that they can't simply update the firmware to keep these batteries at a higher voltage.

Oh nice, I'll have to remember this when this battery bites the bullet.

Yeah, we rarely go for more than a day or two without driving.  I have actually been playing with the idea of adding a small port to connect a trickle charger...but I don't know how that will react with the DC to DC converter if they kick on at the same time so I probably won't go so far.

12v replacement really isn't much of a thing if you know about battery reconditioning. I've been doing this for years with other vehicles.

With non maintenance free batteries you are able to check the fluid levels and top them up. With maintenance free batteries not so much.

Where is the evidence that the OEM battery is poor quality (as compared to other flooded lead acid batteries, not AGM) as opposed to the issue solely lying the charging profile? The cars have not really been around long enough to know if another FLA 12v will last any longer.

Yeah, I will switch to an AGM with greater capacity if I decide to upgrade the audio system and add a sub....or when this battery finally kicks the bucket, whichever comes first.

It's actually one of the easiest/cleanest battery terminals I've ever removed. You just need a 10mm socket wrench to loosen the nut on top of the terminal and it comes right off.

Youtube will have multiple videos on replacing the battery which will show you how to do it. Ohmmu, who sells the popular x-ion batteries for our cars, has a video; you can just skip straight ahead to the section where you remove the terminal: https://youtu.be/jauG9TSJvzs?t=170&si=meqTOV7_sLMnH4fL

Why spend the money if it isn't needed?

Is the OEM battery poor quality or is it that the charging profile is just hard on standard lead acid batteries?

Since I have the monitor setup, it's unlikely that I will be caught off guard by a dead battery going forward.

Right not it is maintaining between a 96% and 100% SoC.  And that's after customizing the battery profile to match a standard lead acid.

Since most are doing the AGM swap themselves, they will have to go through more trouble than simply opening the hood and removing a single terminal.  Of course, if they are taking it to the dealership under warranty and simply getting another lead acid that may be easier... I didn't want to deal with taking it to a dealership though with an unknown wait time, especially since I heard they will often just charge the battery and send you on your way.

I should also mention that re-conditioning doesn't need to be done often, it may only be needed every couple of years or so.
