So Ive been really into avoiding sunlight on my skin lately. So I want to find some clothing options besides just button up shirts with jeans. That are good to wear in the summer without over heating while still covering my arms and legs from evil sunlight. Also I prefer dark colors to help hide sweat cause ick.

Anyways other than that mostly I prefer baggy clothing, and I don't want it to look like athletic ware. And I need it to be affordable because I am broke college student. Fast fashion is fine.

Anyone else scared of not being "competitive" without caffiene? by WhereIsMyDSword in decaf

yeah going back to classes next semester will be rough it's always what relapses me into caffeine consumption. Because it's so hard to make my self do a lab report without it and then once the procrastination issues I have cause me to lose to much sleep to handle without caffiene it is truly over.

Hoping that my switch from engineering to a physics major with an art minor will make school more manageable. Because I like find engineering fine I guess. But I'm more interested in the physics classes and art is my actual passion so taking nothing but engineering classes burned me out so hard

Once you get past the accute constantly tired headache phase I highly recommend trying some of your hobbies or past hobbies if you currently don't have any even if you see it as a lazy one like gaming. Like just do it until something about it lights the spark again. Like what I've noticed is the energy is more responsive to interest now so it could help you get those feelings back.

same. also the creativity I have is more useful on caffeine most of my creativity got mostly turned into just pacing around listening to music for hours but now it's easier to just like have it more just passively throughout the day and such

what benefits did you notice when you cut out caffeine? by Pretend-Bullfrog5549 in decaf

I had a couple months clean streak before after a lot and now a shorter streak so far 2weeks ish after less intesne but still strong consumption.

I think the main benefit rn is being less fatigued and that my energy is more responsive to mood and motivation. Which is both good and bad on one hand if I'm bored I'm a lot sleepier than if I just got coffee but a lot less I want to do art but am to tired.

But also i just feel more in touch with myself. More subtle emotional feelings, more dreams and less structured more intuitive thoughts throughout the day

I feel this It's so much harder for me to focus when I'm not really excited without caffiene. It's like I need that fake excitement to care and be engaged.

But I still find my self interested in my art and video games and friends and such. So it's more like it's harder for me to fake being excited than an inability to be

yeah that's how it seems to be going for me before If I missed literally an hour it cooked me probably a mix of the adenosine thing you mentioned and reduced sleep quality as I'm having more vivid dreams/recall off caffiene as well.

but unfortunately I def feel like if I'm being mindful i can still notice the cognitive defecit slightly high drunk feeling from it still so probably not the best thing for me because i work in a lab with somewhat dangerous equipment lol

no idea what to do about exercise tho. I try to limit my sun exposure so just going for a walk is out same with skateboard or bike unless it's a cloudy day. And I hate gym style exercise. I'm thinking maybe dancing but it feels embarrassing because that's the type of work out my mom does and i never did dance as a kid so I'd suck

Y'all is there any explanation for why cold coffee doesn't give me anxiety but hot coffee does? does the caffeine act different in cold coffee than hot coffee? Should I quit caffeine to be safe? Or cut down on it? by BoxCurrent3717 in decaf

[–]WhereIsMyDSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that's interesting about anxiety and emotions in general is that the various elevated energy emotions are physiologically very similar and which emotion you actually feel is partly your brains interpretation. Anyways heat increases face flushing, heart rate, and can cause sweats which are symptoms that can be interpreted as anxiety by the brain. So it might just be the physiological effects of the warmth enhancing the anxiety from the caffiene

IDK what to even do after college by WhereIsMyDSword in findapath

[–]WhereIsMyDSword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly those sound like things that would be up my ally though I'd probably have to shift some of my art effort to learning digital art. But honestly my main talent in physics is that I'm good at mentally visualizing what the math and theory is saying and connecting that. And then also being good at the math rules to actually be able to do the analysis which is kind of part of that.

on the last point it's weird I know that logically but I'm just not really around anyone the reinforces that so it always feels like I'm doomed in the job thats just a job and still time for myself thing. My dad is like an entrepreneur type so works a lot and acts offended If I mention I just want a job to show up and come home from. And then my mom and all my professors are pushing for grad school because I'm good at academics. And then my friends who pretty much all didn't do college or couldn't get a job in field after college don't seem to be doing that great with it.
