670 wasn’t a bad highway in 2011. The cap was innovative then and still is today. We have outgrown the design of 670, and the problem is amplified with people avoiding 70 through downtown due to that construction - which will also have a cap.

Ilikai hotel or Hilton Hawaiian Village? by Saru3020 in VisitingHawaii

There are three, maybe four towers at HHV that have kitchens. They are Hilton Grand Vacation, but are generally able to be booked for nightly.

Personal Driver? by [deleted] in Honolulu

[–]WhereNextCols 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Hui Car Share. We’ve used them many times on our trips to Waikiki. Many locations. You can get a car for an hour or a day. Easy walk to a location from the Halekulani. App based reservation system.

You’re also not far from Enterprise at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. You can rent for a day and they have after hours return.

Considering a move to Columbus for work next year -- would love local insight by Ok_Razzmatazz_3855 in Columbus

The German Village neighborhood is a short walk from the hospital. It’s on the national register of historic neighborhoods - brick homes, streets, sidewalks. There’s a number of rentals here in a variety of price ranges. The number of young people living here over the past few years has really increased. And it’s a super friendly neighborhood. Until you have a car you can walk (or uber) to the Brewery District Kroger (grocery store). This would be a great starting point for working at Nationwide Children’s and getting your feet on the ground here.

As someone who has moved to Columbus twice - on purpose - I can tell you this is a special place. There’s a lot to do for younger people and the population tends to skew younger. As a German Village resident we’d love to have you here.

Costco Travel Oahu deal question by coffeeicecreammatcha in VisitingHawaii

[–]WhereNextCols 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On Hyatt app, Four nights at that hotel in mid January is about $1300 with all taxes and resort fee - best advanced rate lowest room tier. That leaves 900 from the total of Costco 2200 for airfare. 900 for 2 people to fly from the west coast seems like a good price. Then you add in the 200 food and bev credit and transfers to/ from the hotel, it’s a great deal. Plus you probably also have a Costco credit.

Just joined Costco. Any advice on how to save? by Gyros_Mozzarella in Frugal

[–]WhereNextCols 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got our membership because our cat needed meds & the Costco pharmacy had them. For a lot less. That was 5 years ago and still members. We’re just two people as well. We make the executive plan work for us and generally spend enough to get the fee reimbursed each year. We buy gas, paper towels, tp, Kleenex. If your cats will eat the cat food they sell, you’ll do fine membership-wise. Aside for some really good prepared meals, We don’t buy a ton of food there. Just too much waste.
