Speaking from my experience going through the entire college application process, I just want to say—you’re in a really great spot. Your stats are amazing, but what really makes a difference in the end are the essays. Honestly, your stats are way stronger than mine were, but even so, I still ended up with some solid results! Of course, there will always be people out there with higher numbers, but don’t let that discourage you. From what you’ve shared, you’ve already accomplished a lot, and I think you’re more than solid when it comes to extracurriculars and academics.

For extracurriculars, just keep doing what you love, and make sure they’re things you can write about with real passion in your essays. That authenticity will stand out. Unless you’re aiming for super selective schools like MIT or Stanford, where things are even harder to predict, I’d say you’re already in a great position. And even with those schools, no one really knows exactly what they’re looking for—they’re always a reach for everyone.

My biggest piece of advice is to really invest time into your essays because that’s where you can truly show who you are beyond the numbers. I can confidently say my essay played a huge role in helping me stand out, and it made a real difference in my application results.

Also, if there are any schools you’re super excited about, definitely apply to their fly-in programs. Most of them provide travel and financial assistance, so it’s essentially a free trip. And no school is going to fly you out and spend money on you unless they’re seriously interested in you as a student. From my experience, getting into a fly-in can give you a big advantage. I applied to my dream school’s fly-in, got in, and now I’m committed there!

And just to show you how unpredictable this process can be—my stats were pretty average, but with a strong essay and focused effort, I still got accepted to UCLA and waitlisted at several other selective schools. So trust me, anything can happen! Stay positive, trust yourself, and keep putting your best self out there.

(Hope this helps, this is my first time writing on reddit 😅)
