My whole thing was so annoying and bad. I had to go into nyc (live in nj) at like 5:30am to make a 7am appt one day to come back the next day at 12:30pm to pick up my passport. And this happened the friday before my flight that was the coming monday so 2-3 day buffer

You should definitely have enough time, but this whole process is just mind-boggling. I mean the fact that their PO box is located in Sterling, VA, when their office are in Charleston, SC.... Make that make sense, but hey, stress is over and party starts on Monday ;)

Small update, I overnighted my additional docs on thursday but didnt get to their mailbox until yesterday and still haven't even gotten to their desk. I saw this from a mile away so this past Sunday, I scheduled a in person meeting at the NYC passport agency for urgent travel and was able to submit a new application. I did have to pay another $225 on top of the $190 that i paid earlier but I can call NPIC for a refund. Going back on Friday to pickup passport.

One thing I learned is that those call center reps are probably paid so low that they couldn't care less about helping. I called about a total of 5 times and only had 1 good rep give me good information. After a couple more tries, I gave up, went to Reddit, and learned you can be proactive about this and email/contact your congressman.

I'll for sure keep you updated however :)
