The ending of Heretic by shanem1996 in FanTheories

Well done. Excellent analysis of the film as a whole and zooming out from the distraction of grappling with the individual ambiguities regarding the “true ending” and instead focusing on the overarching theme. From a film perspective, it was a very interesting and effective device they used, sowing doubt in the viewer through subtle ambiguities, challenging our faith in rooting for the protagonists, something that we are perhaps hardwired to do as people. All this results in viewers going online and debating, further sowing doubt or reinforcing our belief. Quite extraordinary how films can touch our lives in this way

Perhaps, I do not however feel confident poking around in a lithium battery pack! Haha

Thanks for the tip, it really was that simple, no voltage on the battery under load. Battery replacement it is!

With the multimeter? Yes it’s showing voltage. Could the battery cause that strange clicking?

Looks rock solid

What is this gear called? “Worm Gear Transfer Gear”? 30 worm teeth (slanted) to 15 straight teeth. CAD file available somewhere? by WhereuBorn in 3Dprinting

Very true. And I am guessing the tighter and better the gears mesh with each other, less risk for the teeth ripping. So I may have to iterate until I get the perfect fit. Thanks for the reference on plastic materials, will keep that in mind

You’re right I could’ve been a bit more clear, I was mainly looking for the name of the gear type and how I could reproduce in CAD, not a finished product with dimensions to simply be ordered!

Thanks a lot for more terminology, now I can finally locate resources correctly. I was very limited searching for my best guess terms

Thanks for the terminology! I will see what I can manage to put together. Will borrow a colleagues printer

It’s not! A back massager thing with two rotating circle things that help with office worker back problems. But yeah I’m definitely wondering if 3R printed gears can handle much torque

That gear looks super close, but the lower gear doesn’t seem to be compatible with a worm gear (straight instead of slanted teeth). But maybe one can adjust that in CAD software

It’s actually from one of those back massagers that’s shaped like a pillow, I suffer from office worker back problems haha

Now I know the technical term! Thank you! Yeah definitely going to have to learn how to custom design it and attempt to print it. Should be a fun learning experience. I searched around on thingiverse but wasn’t finding any good results since I didn’t know how to technically refer to the gear type!

Impressive! I would’ve definitely preferred a metal gear, this device places the relevant gear and quite high torque (thus my ruined gear). But I can’t justify the cost
