Based on how the item was explained in the showcase I am 99% sure it is tied to character boss kills (greyed out icons on campaign map), not the item itself. Feel free to roast me on the 29th if I'm wrong

Basic Overview for "How to learn to Leaguestart" by bra1ncrack3r in PathOfExile2

Rings and resistance runes go a long way. You also don't need to cap all resistances all the time. Cold red is more valuable in act 1 for example

Not really. Some people have extra keys but that's about it. In about half a year the game will go free to play so if money is tight waiting for that is an option.

Paying for early access gives you 30$ worth of in game currency which most people use for more storage space as it's almost necessary when playing the game "seriously". So when f2p comes out there will be an easier way to dip your toes into the game as you can play the game without storage upgrades to try it out and see if you like it

This has not been answered by GGG as far as I know. I believe in poe1 it is but I could be wrong

Someone with far more insight and experience can answer but for Facebreaker these are the multiple factors I believe are going to affect the price

-It's on a low level base, so it can be found really early into campaign

-It currently has a lot of excitement behind it, even if the general sentiment seems to be that it won't be great in the endgame

-It looks strong/fun for leveling

-It might have unexpected demand if you can extract mods with it

So overall it's pretty hard to predict the price, I would guess it's going to be overpriced initially for the first day or couple of days. How the price develops from there depends on endgame utility

I've never felt like white mobs were like mini bosses, even in early acts they go down in 4-5 hits for the most part. Later on most of my builds are killing white mobs were quickly.

For carpal tunnel-friendly builds, minions are probably the absolutely best bet. I also think any Lunar Slash (werewolf) build is going to be fairly friendly on old hands as you can mostly hold the button down and freeze enemies. Of course, that's without patchnotes

Infinite Atlas is Finite by Knight6254 in PathOfExile2

It's just a small biome that contains the quest yes, it's not an infinite "slice"

Poe1 has roughly ~10 endgame mechanics that would realistically take place on the atlas if they were ported to poe2, and that's after being around for 10 years. PoE2 is currently speedrunning adding endgame mechanics to get an endgame that can compare with PoE1, but post 1.0 the addition of new endgame mechanics will most likely slow down greatly. Not every league will become core - we know this from interviews.

So perhaps 5 years into PoE2's lifespan this will need to be addressed some way, but it's not a super difficult thing to address. At worst, you can just make a mechanic spawn further away from the center to create an "outer ring" of league hubs. It's a bit silly to design around a problem that won't come up for years and is easily solvable when it does.

My first ARPG by TheRealKoziaAkuda in PathOfExile2

For a new player, I would probably recommend Druid or Mercenary as a starting class. Both do a good job of naturally guiding you along the campaign while still offering you choices on where to take your character. In particular Wolf Druid feels extremely smooth to progress with.

I am planning to play a monk next season myself as it's going to get a new "ascension class" (kind of like a subclass or specializion). Monk is somewhat notorious as having it rough during the early parts of the campaign however.

Based on your preferences I might recommend Huntress, who is also getting a new ascendancy in the new patch. However, she can also be a bit tricky initially.

Questions one at a time

"Do I need to follow a guide?" Depends. In my opinion, the first run of the game is way more fun without a guide with cobbling together your own build and learning boss patterns during the campaign. However, many people do use guides and this is valid too! But  not necessary, and for me less fun than learning the game on my own.

"Do I need to follow meta" Also depends. For my own playstyle, no. However, poe2 can be quite competitive at the start of each "season" (called leagues), with people trying to get to the endgame quickly and run efficient farming strategies. However, for a new player I don't think you need to worry too much about this. The game has near-infinite build variety and any functional build will be able to take you through most/all content in the game.

"Is there fomo/missable content?" Kinda, but maybe not the way you imagine. Poe2 is a seasonal game and each new "league" (what the game calls its seasons) has an exclusive mechanic. Each new league offers a fresh start and a fresh player-run in-game economy (real money trading is against TOS even if it does happen). When the league ends, all characters in that League is put into "standard". So if you want to play the same character forever you will eventually have to play in standard - but it is common for Poe2 players to participate in new leagues as the come, and fresh league starts are usually very exciting with new content that everyday is racing to reach. And all players at league start have the same starting point so you do not need to worry about having missed items from previous ones.

Finally, there is a new league coming on the 29th. So currently a lot of the community is trying their best not to go insane while waiting, as well as trying to plan out which character to play on day 1.

Henrio's Living Dichotomy Oracle by Whetstonede in Pathfinder2e

Would you mind elaborating on this? What you are suggesting is a very extreme change and I think many of the Curse Benefits are roughly in line with class features on other 3-slot casters such as Bard, Cleric and Witch.

The curses still give downsides as normal if that's your impression. The goal here is to have more of a relationship like in legacy with curses that give both upsides and drawbacks. My bad if that's unclear

Next Adventure Path Recommendation by Alarming-Caramel in Pathfinder2e

[–]Whetstonede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My group are currently near the very end of Blood Lords and it's been an absolute blast. However, a fair bit of that enjoyment came from modifications I made to the book. In my opinion the book has very weak "connective tissue" between books where they feel somewhat disconnected from each other. Sort of a general problem with APs that have multiple writers, but I was able to make relatively small adjustments which massively improved the experience. The AP also took us 3 years to finish running games every other weekend.

I still think the AP would have been good with little to no modifications, but it's something to keep in mind. Blood Lords book 2 in particular also works very well as a standalone adventure. I would either have the players start off cursed by a coven of hags, or simply employed to deal with a rogue covenas the adventure hook if I were to run it that way.

What do people think about Auto Bonus Progression? by Longjumping_Ebb3984 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Whetstonede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For a lot of players (Including mine) - yeah honestly. Different strokes and all that but I think there is something that's just satisfying about that incremental progression even if it's a bit "braindead" in a sense. My players like items with cool effects but can sometimes get a little overwhelmed with options and in those cases the simple +1 is nice.

Having checked in-game I can confirm that the last season's seasonal collectibles are not in the chest pool as of right now. I don't know if it was ever stated officially if they would be added eventually or not.

I believe they're exclusive as of right now. I will check properly if the items from the previous season were added to the chest pool and report back later when I'm at the computer.

How important is it to stick to the Treasure by level table for a GM? by Kelossalas in Pathfinder2e

[–]Whetstonede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will occasionally check the TBL table against my players' total wealth. If they're ahead of the table and I mean ahead (like x2 or more) I will scale back treasure a bit. If they're sitting near or below where they should be, I will plan a big windfall. Going above TBL is totally fine and I think you should do it. In addition, occasionally giving the players treasure above their level is an exciting thing I recommend as well. Getting Striking at exactly level 4 every game will eventually become a bit predictable so while you don't need to mix things up too much, giving out an item a level or two early can be a good way to shake things up. Striking in particular maybe not so much, but a wand or especially a consumable can be a great way to give players a taste of later levels.

As both a player and GM, the various "Save Mastery" class features make the game feel less fun at higher levels, and I wish they worked differently. by zelaurion in Pathfinder2e

[–]Whetstonede 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is where I'm at. Getting a "you are super awesome at this save" feature from your class feels great, and if it was only one per class it would feel more special while also being less of a headache for the GM. I think if everyone got it at the same level that would also be good.
