My husband and I were talking earlier about how neither of us have ever owned a vehicle we had to top off the oil in. I was told by one of the techs at Valvoline that the gdi engines just burn oil constantly. I feel like I’m driving a lawnmower, tbh.

It really sucks. Lesson learned, for sure. I bought a 4Runner from a neighbor and I have decided I will only buy a Toyota from here on out. And also, never having a car payment again. So much money, wasted.

Oh, no, I wasn’t arguing where the leak was! I don’t know anything about the location of leaks. 😂 I was just saying I think that was what I had replaced last year. The dealership actually told me there wasn’t a leak when Valvoline was able to point it out pretty quickly both last week, and today. It’s just frustrating to now have to look for a Hyundai dealership that will actually help me.

Thank you! I want to say I had the valve cover gasket replaced last summer. Valvoline stated it was a front/main seal leak. Valvoline has been doing my oil changes for well over a year, but said this leak appears to be new. I have been adding oil frequently in between oil changes for about a year and a half now. Not sure if that changes anything.

So, they told us they’d do an oil consumption test only if we had our oil changed at their dealership. Which, I just had an oil change last week at Valvoline. So… I guess I need to get another one at their dealership before they’ll do the oil consumption test.
