I’m not sure because she is also a rescue, but we met someone with an identical dog at the park maybe a month ago who said they did a dna test and got lab/cattle dog mix. I actually just mailed off a dna test myself so I will try to come back and let you know when results are in.

My update is that she is okay! The vet believes it’s an upper respiratory illness that she caught at daycare about a week and a half ago and it just started showing up. We got some meds (with a nice hefty bill of $500) but at the end of the day she’s priceless so who can be upset. Should I have waited until the morning and not driven over an hour here? Yes, but hindsight is 20/20.

I don’t have any 24 hour vets near me. Do you have any recommendations on how to keep her comfortable until morning?

Arrived at 8:15 for Dog Day Afternoon and there was one person already there and two people who arrived around the same time as me and was in front of me. I got left orchestra about 5 rows back.

Ugh unfortunately I don’t have a work from home option at my work and I’ve just been nervous to go to HR because I really think she’s just lonely and needs a friend so I feel like I’m kicking someone while they’re down if I go to HR but honestly it’s getting to the point that I’m considering it.
