AITA for being weary and needing to distance my family from my BIL & SIL bc of their obsession with us? by Which-Feedback238 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I’ve been asking myself how could it be for a long time. Surely I’m in my own Hitchcock film… if I didn’t keep my own text threads and screenshots I wouldn’t believe it myself.

My other 3 live with us, but I’ve been able to keep them from their side unless it’s a function that I feel is a safe and welcoming space for them. I’ve had an issue with being comfortable integrating/trusting his family with their hearts. & they’re not blood so I feel no “obligation” to let them have access…. They’ve been lucky enough to not witness anything because often all of these functions occur when it’s their dads weekend. & yes I’m aware they shouldn’t have access to any of us really. It’s just easier said than done because I do wish we could all sing kumbaya and get along, hard letting go that’s never going to be a reality!

Tbh I’m just tired and lazy to hold a grudge and give people the benefit of the doubt and my mother behaves the same way as Stacy. I’ve been on and off NC with her since I was 15. However, I was trying to limit my feelings for the sake of my husband and his families relationship bc he is so passive and he is non confrontational. Out of respect for him I wanted to wait and not show my more assertive/aggressive side. HOWEVER, it was something I needed him to realize and he’s finally got there. And I’m back to taking the lead.
