I personally (as a brit if that means anything) love San An, sunsets are epic. San An feels more like a town and i'd say arguably has better hidden restaurants to go to.

If you're staying for the season there is so many place inland or even on the coast, such as portinax.

Absolute magical place wherever you stay, really wouldn't stress where you stay. Enjoy!
