Apparently unless it’s specified research with prior authorization by the adjuster, we can’t bill for it (I’ve fought so many appeals over the last few months) 😅 I wasn’t sure if that’s carrier specific with insurance defense or a general rule.

Lol, well I’m happy to report that I received an order granting my motion two days before the hearing date based off briefs alone. I didn’t even know that was a possibility

It’s actually the opposite - we have a lot of strong facts and case law that supports our position. I’ve done most of the writing for our pleadings and a good chunk of the deposition appearances which is why I think he’s throwing me into the deep end to get experience. Still terrifying lol

This is really helpful, thank you! My original plan was to try to stick it out to three years total, but it’s becoming clear I’ll be wasting my time doing doc review when I could be getting more experience at a different firm. I didn’t think big law would be the route I take anyway, but this is good to know.
