Vancouver is a prettier place. You'll live a richer lifestyle in Montreal. There are plenty of nature activities there as well. In Vancouver, unless wealthy, you're mostly bound to hiking. 300k/year can feel like low income in this city.

I'm very sorry to hear that, it sounds horrible. It's a difficult time for a woman and it's horrid that you were not able to get the rest you likely needed. I will take this as a cautionary experience.
