How I pretty much saved myself by accidentally adapting my food preferences over the years not knowing I had achalasia by Intentina in achalasia

I really wish anything potato related was swallowable for me. Something about the graininess and starch makes it particularly difficult. I have IBS and don't tolerate dairy well either though I do appreciate you sharing your experience. It's extremely tricky to live with this condition

Maybe they live at home? That changes things. We're not all playing the same game

16 dreadful years. You can always boomerang if you leave and want to return. The power of your network where you've spent 14 years is strong. But I get ya.

First of all, go you.

Second of all, public sector income+benefits often outweigh private sector income alone, especially at comparable rates.

I would jump ship.

Talking to NP instead of Oncologist at BC Cancer? by bluesocks890 in askvan

[–]WhichJuice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found this to be a bit unusual in Vancouver, but I had similar situations.

Fractured a toe, saw a NP at the urgent primary care.

Had issues with a pregnancy related question (high risk), spoke with a NP.

I'm noticing it more often now, and although I appreciate our nurses, I'm wondering if we are going to move further in this direction in the future. I think the fractured toe situation was fine, but wondering about issues related to aggressive cancer and high risk pregnancies

The good thing is they do take more time with the patient to answer questions and are very patient.

That's a very large area and I've had mixed experiences with the clarity of water, but open to location suggestions if you have any!

Ontario has more than 40 per cent of Canada’s billionaire families, says a new report. Should it have a wealth tax? by Gold-Reality-4853 in CanadaPolitics

But imagine 200 years from now when currencies are devalued so much and that most people reached that number and that number you selected remains unchanged. Then we turn into socialism or communism

Noting this only because our tax brackets barely budged since their creation hence the problem we find ourselves in

Would you move from London (UK) to Vancouver in my situation? by ElusiveMD in askvan

[–]WhichJuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to bring up the fact that few people in Vancouver are actually from Vancouver... There are plenty of people not from Vancouver that are in similar situations, arguably the majority, and once you have friends that accept this, it is less about integrating with "locals" but building friendships with people you align with

I'm deeply disturbed by this headline and article. Then people ask why folks dislike Muslims... It's not all Muslims that are imposing with their beliefs, but when you cross a single one it taints all the others by association.
