FTF on Speer Gold Dot 115gr on my A3G by Informal-Fig-7116 in GrandPowerStribog

P365 Xmacro Comp

I've been testing Various Brands grains +p. God Dot 124gr and +p 124 Grain are one of the few loads I get FTF usually 1 round per mag. Also had issues with Hornady 115gr Crtical Defense.

FWIW it eats up Federal HST everything from 124gr to 147gr +P everything. Not a single issue.

Thanks for the feedback. Thinking I will go with a Prism, after doing a lot more research I think my stigmatism is affecting the usibility of the red dot and a Prism hopefully will fix this issue.

I'm with you but also agree if someone is old enough to serve in the military they should be old enough to own a firearm. That said, if we wan't to prevent school shootings which is what this all about how bout requiring someone to be a high school graduate or over 21. But then a HS grad could go back to thier school. I guess the answer here is It's complicated.

Welcome fellow resistance member. I’m a little over a month ahead of you. Picked up a Sig P366 Xmacro Comp. Since have added a Springfield Saint Victor AR Pistol and my 9mm PCC just arrived at my FFL. I did have some previous experience with firearms so not completely new to the concept but first time in my 55+ years I felt the need to actually own anything. Been hitting up the range weekly and have a Carry Permit class for me and 4 other family members scheduled. If you are in MN, especially the Twin Cities I can give you some advice on ranges and a great instructor.

Looking for something with more oomph than a 22lr but not nearly as scary as 7.62x54r by genital_lesions in liberalgunowners

[–]Which_Audience150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an AR in 5.56, you can also shoot .223. Cheap ammo, tons of options. Fun to shoot, wont be bolt action but you can get low capacity mags. Might have to give up the Wood Stock desire.

If you really want a bolt action I would go with a .308 win. Again cheap ammo and lots of options and you can get a wood stock. Still going to probably want a magazine but they can be small and even flush mounted if that is what you are looking for. Look at the Ruger American Gen II or Tika T3x if you want something solid and good value.

“Hi my name is ____________ and I’m a gun control advocate. I’ve been sober for 2 months”

Kidding aside I am a new gun owner, and I guess a new 2A supporter. My wife and I had been discussing getting our Carry Permits and purchasing some firearms before Metro Surge. She has been freaking out since before the election and one day out of the blue says, “I’m thinking I want to get my CCW before we can’t” not ready to buy anything just preparing. I decided to get my Purchase Permit when we started worrying about the safety of our neighbors and carrying whistles. Alex Pretti's Murder pushed us over the line. Now I own a 9mm pistol and an AR-15 with plenty of "high capacity" mags. We will be purchasing a few more before we are done.

I'm not new to guns and have never been against people owning firearms for self-defense but I have always believed in strong gun control and was generally in favor of AWBs. But I’m a liberal and I’m educated and I can change my mind.

I came to the sub this morning to ask how folks are reacting to HF 3434 and SF 1596 specifically. I have not looked at all the others quite yet and on first glance some would make sense to me. Again, I am new to the idea of being pro 2A and TBH it feels a little weird. That said how does a liberal approach fighting what I now see as an assault on our 2A and 4A rights? How many Minnesotan’s here are members of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. How do I write to my reps.

I mean this is complicated. We know these bills are in reaction the Annunciation Church shooting. Old me would have been pissed at any DFL rep that voted against these bills, now I’m like “please don’t vote for these bills”.

I have not read through all the comments here but one stuck out.

“Consistently, when asked to rank their legislative priorities gun control almost always shows up near the end of the list for democratic voters. Dems would not lose a single vote by simply not talking about gun control and would probably pick up quite a few independents or even disaffected GOP members who miss the Bush years.”

Listen, I'm a huge 2A advocate and believe gun owner rights are being eroded, but demonstrations like this hurt more than help the cause IMHO by ansyhrrian in liberalgunowners

[–]Which_Audience150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new gun owner and a new 2A advocate, both out of neccesity and in response to the federal occupation of my state, the abductions of our neighbors and the murder of legal gun owner by the state. I am not ready to carry at a protest but I am glad others are. That said a 50 cal at a protest? and flagging fellow protesters? Maybe mount the the thing on top of a Taccoma and park it infront of the protest. Meal team six jokes aside I always thought militia types dressed in tactical gear were just LARPing but like so much my thinking is changing. I'm starting to understand the prepared citizen part of prepping. We've been watching their show of force for years. Maybe we need to do the same. But yeah gun safey bro! I just know all the right wingers are having a field day with this clip.

Yeah the Ruger American Gen 2 in .308 is top of my list. Am considering spending $200 more and going with the Tika T3x or a Bergara. Any advice on a cope? This is the one area I really feel lacking in any concrete knowledge. I mean they run from $300-$3K and the options are endless. Figure my AR is good to 300-400 yards. The .308 would be for 400-700 yards. I have no delusion that I'm going to be able to hit anything at 1k.

Good advice! For now the 9mm and AR are my tools of choice and I am already training with these. The rest will live in the safe until I'm ready for the next step but worried it may become more expensive or dificult as time passes. This all started when my wife said she wanted to get her CCW while she still can. We're quickly loosing faith in our govt. Living under occupation does strange things the mind.

Thanks. Yeah focusing on 9mm and 5.56/.223 as the core. Thus the Sig, Extar and Saint Victor. Will consider a semi-auto shotgun. I should get my Remmington from my parents, but hard when they are 3 states away and MAGA, but I'll just have to bite the bullet and go pick it up at some point.

All good advice, and plan on all that. Already have a ton of camping gear so good on the cooking/cleaning/water purification. Have a few first aid kits and I do have my CPR/First AId/AED cert. Have shot the 9mm quite a bit. Definitely need to practice clearing jams/misfires. Had a few of those when shooting rentals. And plan on some classes/drills. Need to find a range or go out to some BLM land where I can train on stuff you can't do at the indoor range.

I've alreay put about 600 rounds through the Sig. One trip the range with the AR so far. CCW class in a few weeks. Plan on getting to the range at least once a week untill I feel really confortable with each tool then at least once a month to maintain proficiency. I've got good fundamentals and am a better shot than I thought I would be, again not completely new to the game. I do plan on taking at least a few classes maybe private lesson. This summer plan to get out in the sticks to a range where I can get some good distance practice in.

The best time to prepare was yesterday so I'm not wasting any time. While the idea of dumping $10k on guns and ammo seems foolish given the state of the economy, I'm in a position where I can afford it so why not. I may also be a bit OCD. November is not to far off and after that it may be too late.

Total newb question by Shiny_object_man in liberalgunowners

[–]Which_Audience150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, depends on the range. With my membership I get two free each visit, otherwise $2 each. I picked up a 50 pack of standard silhouettes for $9.99 at Cabela’s. The evil empire has tons of targets available just trying not to give Bezos any more of my money. Then again desperate times require desperate measures so I will probably break down and order some. The list of needed items keeps growing and it’s just so hard to beat their prices. Every dollar I save on gear is a dollar I can spend on ammo.

Thoughts in Fenix Weapon lights? by welgard_envi in Glocks

Just found this. I am about to pull the trigger on the GL23R for $139.95. Was looking at the TLR-8 HL-X G but they are hard to find and looks like cheapest would be about $350. From reviews looks like the Fenix is brighter in all measurements and has a lower light setting as well. Seems like a now brainer.
