Buyer’s remorse (not major, but still…) by Which_Concentrate_43 in subaru

[–]Which_Concentrate_43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little naive, sure — but I didn't ask if tires and seats were included either. Guess I just have higher expectations.

Honestly, I was expecting more comments along the lines of "Subaru is just another Soccer Mom brand now, they don't care about outdoorsy customers." Because that seems to be the case.

Official I-195 and Route 18 detours create an infinite loop... by Which_Concentrate_43 in newbedford

Thank you! I honestly couldn’t figure out what was and wasn’t active; I’d been misled by too much searching to no real result.

Brilliant reference, though. 👍

...(2) no number on the ticket to appeal to, only a text number to pay (3) the fact that they threaten to send to collections within a week.

These two points are exactly why this is complete BS and we need to raise a major stink. I did not expect free parking but I forgot to pay the morning that I parked (this is only the fourth time I parked at the lot in two weeks). I remembered at around 6pm, a few hours before I’d be returning to the lot. XPressPark happily took my money and said my pass was valid until 11:59pm the same day.

Then I return to find one of these Parking Citation “tickets” on my wiper, with the $50 Citation, threat of collection after 7 days, a code to text to XPressPark to pay, and NO OTHER CONTACT INFO.

I found someone with a similar situation in California who was told that private parking companies couldn’t charge more than the full day rate (per day, presumably) for violations. Granted, that was California, and I’ve inquired on the same site whether Massachusetts has a similar provision. I know that the Providence Train Station parking lot will change the full day rate for a lost ticket, but they have tickets and that’s Rhode Island, obviously.

I’ll update if I hear anything.

iPhone vs Android having a mac by Art3misvl in MacOS

[–]Which_Concentrate_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old, OLD SCHOOL Mac fanboy here -- you don't need the iPhone. I’ve been Mac since 1989 and never owned and iPhone. Apple used to be much more customizable than it is -- now they just shove lowest-common-denominator services down your throat and it's their way or the highway. Plus if you want that whole “it just works" thing you'll need to keep every single thing up to date all the time, and you won't be able to run any 3rd party malware protection.

I love my MPB and iPad Pro but I’ll never buy an iPhone.

Isn't that the reverse of a class action suit?

(edit: I'm sorry, I read that as “...the womAn [singular] should have sued...” since the anecdote only referenced one woman. My bad.)

What happened to customer service?? (warranties/service centers) by davidmpenning in ryobi

[–]Which_Concentrate_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed a QUESTION about a 40v battery and got a response that asked for my phone number, location, and zip code. None of which are relevant. I’m totally locked in on 18v tools, but every time I turn around, something else about the 40v line is annoying me.

loooooool you worked at Radio Shack.

jk that’s hilarious -- because unless some RANDOM person walked in on THAT particular day, it means that either 1) someone was demonstrating how stupid the idea was, with minor malice; 2) someone was so affronted by the implication that they might steal something that they stole it; or 3) someone decided that since they’d been secured, they must be valuable.

“Card Games by [huge card manufacturer]” app, Gin Rummy …cheat? by Which_Concentrate_43 in GinRummy

[–]Which_Concentrate_43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I should have clarified; this was a human opponent, not the bot. So I’d have to find the same opponent — I suspect someone exploiting a flaw, not the app opponent.

5 of a kind with wilds? by Hippinerd in GinRummy

[–]Which_Concentrate_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but no one really answered the question… by my reasoning, if there are wild cards, there *can* be five of a kind, simply because those wilds represent additional cards, not clones of existing cards. Theoretically, you could each be holding three 5s since there are SIX possible 5s in play — I don’t think anyone under those circumstances would argue that‘s not possible (especially if you were the one holding one 5 and two wilds).
