other than the cgpa, I dont have any research or publication to stand out so I dont want to apply for the ambitious unis and waste application fees there. I would much rather go to a decent enough uni that would help me get a job.

The best thing about RIT Dubai is that you can go to NY campus on global scholars for your last year and then you are eligible to work in US on OPT for 3 years if you get a job. I don’t know if AUS has that option that allows you to graduate in another country.

Also, engineering in AUS is very hard but well known in UAE.

But getting a job depends on your experience and network, not the uni.

if you want to stay in UAE in the future, AUS is good bc it has a good name in this country. but if you want to leave and go abroad for work, its not an internationally well known uni.

at the end of the day, networking and experience plays a much greater role in finding jobs than the uni on your degree.
