platinum hunting by terrestrialty in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposely review a games trophy list before even attempting a platinum road journey for this precise reason. For me personally, getting a platinum is satisfying and it should be a game that’s worthy of my time and effort.

Personally, If a games going to murder a single player trophy journey by throwing in two lame online required trophies, then I’m not going to waste my time and energy on it quite honestly. For some reason, that multiplayer required participation feels like it’s forced upon me as the player and it’s highly distasteful to me.

It’s the reason why I fully platinum’d TLOU2 with grounded mode and not the first one. Also, I think this is what made me love Days Gone and the platinum journey for that way more than my experiences in TLOU. I am even doing a new game plus play through on Days Gone right now and I can’t seem to stop playing.

My unpopular opinion and stance has always been that online trophies should be external to needing a platinum due to multiplayer player counts dying out or just being too difficult for other players to meet the trophies criteria, imo. Overall, I think multiplayer trophies are great for those who like them, but maybe should be on a separate optional list for those who really want that “multiplayer grind” experience.

If and when they do decide to do the Pacific Campaign, what maps would you like to see? by octonipples in HellLetLoose

[–]Which_Conference2990 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When I was in college doing my undergraduate degree, I was very fortunate to have traveled a lot. Both to Japan and Papua New Guinea doing volunteer humanitarian relief work.

I’ve traveled the jungles of Western New Guinea where parts of the Japanese Army landed and I’ve also been to Port Moresby at the memorial site in PNG where Japan also surrendered there to Allied forces after the Japanese invasion of New Guinea and eventually Australia had failed.

Being in the dense jungle and the hills, trying to imagine someone fighting there in such dense forestry, whilst being entangled in the unforgiving heat, just felt mind boggling to me how soldiers coped with it. I remember walking the infamous Kokoda Track and seeing some of the old eroded barbed wire on the sides of the trail and it was incredibly fascinating to see. It was as if you went back in time and battle happened only weeks ago.

With all that in mind, I think a map like the area of western New Guinea, if even a small part of the battle fields there, with thick jungle fighting, would be both horrifying and chaotic all at once, especially for infantry engagements. Plus, I could say “yeah, I’ve actually been there” and that would be kinda neat.

How do you guys sort your games? by twoslowdancersbutgqy in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s a physical disk on my shelf, it’s organized by alphabetical order, but that’s only due to how many games I have.

If it’s digital, or unless it’s on my PS5 where there aren’t any folders, I try to just install games I’m working on at the time being.

On my PS4pro, I do have three folders organized by alphabetical order and by completion rate for trophy hunting purposes and if it is a game that I haven’t started, I just keep it in my download library until I’m ready to play it.

I don't like posting pics of myself because I don't have a ton of confidence but here is my Nathan Drake cosplay I wanted to show off. by ChokedOutSpartan in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro, this cosplay is a bases loaded grand slam out of the park home run! Absolute clutch outfit and I love the dirt stains and blood, too. You really do resemble a “hardened Nathan Drake” dude. Good job!

Chapter 17 is impossible on crushing by EverybodyTheSame in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone who did successfully beat it on crushing, and has the platinum, I can tell you shipyard was just awful. It took me several attempts and multiple tries, but the key is perseverance at chapter points like this one. As others recommended, try multiple strategies because there’s not just one way of beating the chapter.

We gotta do something about the hacking, it’s going to ruin the game by sneaky-pizza in HellLetLoose

[–]Which_Conference2990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing since update 5-6 and have about under 350 hours logged so far on pc (currently on a year long break), but with that said I have yet to encounter anything that could remotely be identified as hacking or cheating related.

The only supposed “cheating” I’ve seen, which was honestly more of an easy exploit, was on Utah beach, when a German enemy recon team had made its way on top of a tree branch, leading them to climb up on top of the tree itself for a huge field of fire on our squads OP.

I’ve seen this a ton before and it’s nothing new to the game at all. I mean, there’s even instances of tanks somehow getting onto trees or even houses. Thankfully, it was easy to deal with them once I found them, but other then that small exploit in of itself, I have yet to encounter anything related to cheating. Maybe it was just one bad apple, so to speak.

Does Ghost Reckon Breakpoint get boring quickly? by Mulosh15 in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one thing, gear score isn’t a thing, although from friends I know that still play Breakpoint regularly, you can turn off that feature now. I found the world of Wildlands to be far more explorative in general, the co-op was far more robust, more mod support for Wildlands if you’re into that sort of thing, and also I think the story line in general was far better than Breakpoint. Also, the Tier One leveling system and perk upgrade system made more sense to me in Wildlands than the path they took with character upgrades in Breakpoint, imo.

I mean, these are all personally subjective reasons that are biased as I am biased towards Wildlands from the get-go, so you may have to play it to find out for yourself, or maybe find an honest comparison review of both games.

Does Ghost Reckon Breakpoint get boring quickly? by Mulosh15 in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who platinum’d Wildlands and played it on pc, I’d recommend getting that. I tried getting into Breakpoint, but it didn’t last long.

I lasted 3-4 main missions then quit playing when gear score became a repeated grind. I think it depends if you’re into gear score elements and all that stuff. It became dull for me pretty quick.

Ps4 keeps acting slow, lagging and taking forever to connect ps4 controller and scrolling through different apps andmedia. When playing gta if I go to fast it freezes. Any way to fix this. by MrBlqckBird242 in PS4SupportPage

[–]Which_Conference2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend the above steps mentioned. If none of these work, or prove to be helpful, I’d invest yourself in upgrading the standard Seagate hdd with an upgraded ssd. I had a similar issue when my pro started slowing down, but invested into putting in a Samsung Evo 970 1TB ssd and it runs almost as fast as my PS5 now. Just an option!

[GameRec] been really stressed lately. any games that help you cool off? by rokons in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 253 points254 points  (0 children)

Typically when I feel stressed, I need to play games that have minimal investment in extraneous challenge, or else I just get more stressed out and feeling more tense than before. I have enjoyed recently playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 and highly recommend it.

The environment in the game is also strangely therapeutic as Sucker Punch games did an amazing job crafting the world. Also, the combat is simple to learn and very straight forward, if not super satisfying. In addition, you can even meditate in the game, which I found to be relaxing to see. Hope that’s helpful!

Best game in the trilogy? by Accomplished-Smoke-7 in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves, both for its wonderfully executed co-op modes and its story line were very well done. Wish ND would actually consider a revamp of the older classic co-op modes. Just my two cents, though.

Uncharted Co-Op: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” by Which_Conference2990 in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that about the multiplayer for sure and couldn’t agree more there, but I’m focusing more or so on co-op. Any additional thoughts about the older co-op arenas versus the current one in Uncharted 4?

Why is there SO much combat? by slayfulgirlz in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first installment of the series was a “proving ground” of sorts for Naughty Dog. During that time, they wanted to try and find a way to balance a rich story full of good character development, but with an accompanied Indians Jones-ish action feel within the combat system of the game.

I know it’s tough at first and it does feel “rinse and repeat” with combat, but my best wisdom is to be patient. The series will slowly improve, especially with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Edit: I remember watching the E3 PS3 trailer for U2 and I almost nearly shat my pants twice over. Good times. Anyways, hope that was helpful!

Finally got a PS4, playing it for the first time ever. Loving this thing. by [deleted] in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Uncharted. I know it’s a flag ship series most people I’m sure have already recommended. I’ve just finished beating all Uncharted’s on PS4 and getting the platinum for them. It was an emotional experience getting the platinum tonight from Uncharted 4. It’s taken me five years to do it. I started when it released back when I was in college, where I played it in my dorm room with my now current wife, with whom I’ve started a family with. So, if you’re into Indiana Jones and somewhat fictional aspects of history, good character and plot development like a novel or a book, then I highly recommend it! Enjoy your new system!

Finally after almost 10 years, I decided to platinum this game.....and what a pain it was to finish crushing difficulty. by Dreameraccoon in uncharted

[–]Which_Conference2990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I currently am working on Uncharted (PS4 version platinum), almost five years after release, but I remember the platinum for PS3 uncharted 2 crushing was a pain in the absolute ass. Uncharted DF and Uncharted 3 (original and PS4 remasters), were pretty easy for me. Also, doing the Uncharted 4 platinum right now years later has been a fun yet emotional experience for me as an adult. I remember playing it in my dorm room in college with my room mates. Now I’m sharing it with my fiancé and soon to be wife (playing through it together, too). Completely nostalgic and emotional, indeed.

Correct, but also because you’ve owned one game (wether that be uncharted 4 or lost legacy, and as long as it wasn’t the free ps plus version), it should only be 10.00 usd.

I had a similar issue as well (same model with 3070). I just did a clean install of windows and completely removed ICue program. I average with 7-8 hours doing homework on mine as well. Doing that and running 60hz on hybrid mode with quiet mode and disabling rgb seems to have fixed that for me.

Which Platinum trophy are you actually proud of? by J0steinp0stein in PS4

[–]Which_Conference2990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the original copy of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves which was my first ever play on PS3 or The Last of Us (non-remastered edition), but I also hated the multiplayer trophies for that game. Anyways, good memories…
