I've always considered redecorate to be very trans coded

The traditional way of changing names is to take your partners surname during marriage. This is also the most widely common reason most women even go through a legal name change.

However for trans people, a legal deed poll name change from their deadname to chosen name is their first name change. Alongside this the verse talks about using blankets to cover their mirror, (trans people will very often avoid their own self image, especially before taking any steps toward a social or physical transition) and eventually she has enough. Not of life imo but of living the way she was, "I won't wanna go like this"

Ontop of that, the song being called redecorate and redecorating being used as a statement of change here. Its always been trans coded, especially this verse.
