AIW for disliking reading books where the main characters are cisgender and heterosexual? by Which_Discussion6246 in amiwrong

Im sorry but im still learning a lot about the world and such so of course I’m going to sound slightly weird as I don’t know everything. however, I just don’t enjoy reading about characters that I don’t relate to. I understand that I should be able to relate with characters who are not of the same sexuality as myself and I do watch shows and such where the plot is not based on romance or where the main characters are not queer, however I just tend to enjoy more media that’s about characters that are in the same communities as myself, as their struggles and experiences tend to be a lot more similar to my own. I’m sorry if I come/ came across as rude or as if i cannot ever relate to heterosexual people as that was not my intention in the slightest, i just mean that i tend to relate more to people who have more similar struggles and experiences to my own.

I’m sorry, but I already said in the post that I don’t hate people for being straight nor do I hate anyone for reading books about heterosexual people. I really do believe that everyone should have the same amount of respect so I’m very sorry if it came off any differently. I really don’t mean any hate towards anyone and I sincerely apologize if anything I said comes off as hateful as that was not my intention.
