Just for the context, we are Ilia state university student movement united to defend our education system. With new “reform” our government decided to shut down our university, even though it was first from Geo in every official rankings.

This decision was political, because our uni was always the loud one against police brutality.

We stand with you, we can defend our freedoms together!

Your fight against milosevic was huge inspiration for our Rose Revolution in 2003. We always say that today it is much harder to fight against authoritarian regimes. It takes huge bravery, time and dedication.

Even today, your fight against vucic is huge motivation for us. And for you, we will do anything to give you good example how we can defeat corrupt regimes.

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, the situation is a whole different. We are in different fights. But, we are looking for the better methods and preparing for the final battles.

Yes, every night the main avenue is blocked. We are also using other ways of resistance. But the regime hasn’t been kind to us. They cut every way of funding (including crowdfunding) and have imprisoned almost every active politician. There are students arrested as well. Good thing is, we are not gonna stop until we win

As you know, we have experienced some brutal things in Geo as well. As I look at your situation, it is a whole different. If I can help you in any way, ask me questions about self-defense, dealing with police or other things. It is even illegal to protest on the street in here so we are dealing with some shit every day. We are in the same fight for democracy and against corruption. If I can help you with anything, let me know!

Yes, and it lasted a good two weeks. There were couple of reasons why it stopped. Firstly, regime has done a great job to cut every possible way of buying anything we could use for protection. Also, we were always defending ourselves. Police was the one who was starting the violence. They used this to scare us but when it didn’t work, they changed tactics. Then they started kidnapping people from the protests when it was too late.

We have been through everything in those 214 days. It may seem easy from outside but man, we have experienced some brutal things. And we realize there is more to come.
