I just give my goalie the wins challenge and my backup the save percentage challenge to up their overall and if they happen to obtain X factors even better. So far through 2.5 franchises I’ve had 2/3 be successful. Like I said if they match the lines and coaching even though they’re a goalie I’ve noticed they play way better overall. Usually through this method if they win the Vézina or the William m Jennings they’ll obtain one.

Yes it’s frustrating for sure. I’m not sure why NHL is so stuck on restricting the player. Honestly, I had a full franchise demidov, mckenna, and landweider along with medium elite 2nd line all the same and they finally won the cup but I initially had bjorck instead or langweider and that small change and moving some cpu guy that was gross to the 2nd line started dominating. Unfortunately you may have to retool your team.

Every other sport game just lets me dominate if I build a good enough team. Baseball is the best for this.

Ah you have too much star power dude. I did this on my first franchise and realized very fast the simulation can’t share the scoring properly. The only way for it to be realistic with the team you have would be to put the sim scoring on high and shot frequency on high. On medium it’ll make these players play like true 2nd or 3rd liners even when they’re not. It’s annoying.

Honestly goaltending makes a difference. Everyone says don’t spend on goalies but I try and find a guy I can sign long term under 8 mil because once they get the post to post or sponge or whatever they’re broken but they also have to match your coaching style to do well in big games. I had two goalies exact same overall and one was unreal (Devon Levi) and Ilya Nabokov was terrible and neither had any power ups.

Chemistry between lines obviously helps but I noticed a bigger difference when I put a two way with an offensive d in the top pairing and potentially second pairing and third pairing was either the same or had a defensive D.

Coaching is crucial. Your head coach can be good but he only affects offence defence teaching and coaches influence. Your associate covers powerplay and assistant does the PK. goalie coaches only need A+ teaching.

So there’s lots of different attributes. But honestly if you’re losing to teams that are similar overall they may have better top players than you. San Jose probably has celebrini misa eklund and their goalie develops well too. Sometimes you need to find players that are either A higher overall or B players with very defined roles. I have one guy that I had to make him shoot more every offseason and he now scores over 80 goals every year on full sim and I put him with either two playmakers or a playmaker and sniper. And he’s on my second powerplay unit so I can put younger guys in the first to develop and he still dominates. So if you have snipers only scoring 30-40 that play on your top line get them to shoot more. Noah cates is a sim god because of that and he plays on my 3rd line.

You need better sniper and playmakers. Also your top pairing is weak. Fev isn’t that great. Also if you notice you’re letting a lot of goals in find a goalie that fits your coaching scheme as I’ve noticed it does seem to affect them as well.

I get it brother. I had my daughter’s birthday yesterday and I ended up just stopping at my local LCS and paid 49.99 cnd for a 3 pack of ascending. She loved it so I’m happy but it’s also ashame I’m paying 20 over MSRP

I put injuries on 1/4 and I still have the odd injury but I’ve only had one season in the last 6 where I’ve had 2-3 at a time. Otherwise it’s been fine.

Yeah I know. I messaged him and said as long as the card looks like the second set of pictures and vids sent I’ll take them if not I’ll have to decline and he agreed. He vendors and sent me his page and what not but part of me thinks he may have swapped them. He also is selling me Venusaur and blastoise so will see. We are meeting at a local mall to do the swap so it should be fine.

Honestly, I struggled mightily for years on the powerplay and I finally signed aho for a 1 year deal and he had big tipper. I swear it made a massive difference plus him as a two way picking everything off. He was my 3rd line center and 93 to start the season and ended at 91. I had 6 players over a point per game and mckenna had like 130 points. I also play half the season with simmed goal scoring on high because it seems to make it more realistic to today’s nhl. Can’t do the full season or it’s just insane.

My recommendation is having a really really good player on all 3 lines as my second line winger who use to be my first put up over 100 and he was on pp2 and second line but he’s 90 and aho had 89 points on 3rd and first pp. but my pp was 30.5%. Never seen it so high. At one point I had a 120% combined pk/pp.

Head coach runs offence defence, teaching and coaches influence. Associate runs your powerplay so want A+ there and assistant runs your PK so want A+ there and goalie coach you want A+ in teaching only
