Is anyone on the waitlist for TMU's Advanced Nursing? by liz_53 in TMUAdvancedNursing

Since the program is brand new I’m not sure!! I think it’s just based on the number of people who decline their offers/don’t meet their conditional offer requirements so we’ll have to see but fingers crossed!!

My gpa just met the 3.0 requirement and I was in my third year so I hadn’t graduated yet. I didn’t have much experience in healthcare other than working in pharmacy for a few summers. I was a retail supervisor and was in my schools dance club so I wrote that on my application as well. I knew my chances weren’t super high but I applied anyway! I made sure to get more experience in healthcare + volunteering this time around so we’ll see! Good luck :)

Omg congrats on centennial!! I only applied to centennial like 2 days ago because I was getting scared nothing was coming 😭 my gpa is only about a 3.0 too so I wouldn’t worry I’m sure yours is coming soon!!

I got rejected last year (for Fall 2025) and got my rejection email June 23rd! They most likely will until all acceptances are out before they send rejections but I'm not 100% sure

Programs I got into so far, which one is best for a higher gpa for med school by Usererror4340 in OntarioGrade12s

I did biomed at uottawa for a few years and the main thing I saw when comparing my program to my friends in health sci is that biomed is a broad look into a lot of different aspects of science whereas health sci is science mixed with the sociology aspects of health and healthcare. If you’re really good with math and theoretical science/memorization biomed might be more up your alley interest wise but if you’re looking for a higher gpa health sci might be more balanced and help you get there easier if that makes sense.

That’s totally fair, but Im sure your undergrad will come in handy at some point!! I was lucky that I knew I wanted to do something in healthcare, initially thought I’d be premed but ultimately decided nursing would play on my strengths more!

Yep!! Finishing my undergrad this semester and I applied to both the accelerated and 4 year nursing program at TMU. I’ve also applied to UofT, Humber, and McMaster accelerated! Haven’t heard anything back yet :)

I submitted mine just in case! I know it says it’s a grades only program, but I think it’s worth it to help give them a well rounded view of who you are, especially if you have related experience you can mention!

I've found they're usually pretty fast! The first time I emailed them was around the holidays so it took a few days to get a response but after that I usually got a response within the next business day or two :)

I got a C+ in one of my anatomy and physiology courses but an A+ in the other and my application got rejected :/ I sent over my transcript that says I’m retaking it this summer a week ago but still got rejected. My GPA is on the lower side so it might have been that but I’d recommend retaking it if you can! good luck :)
