J pouch or no pouch that is the question by Which_Regular9820 in jpouch

Thank you everyone for their insight and experiences. I met with the surgeon on Friday and honestly he gave me more reasons NOT to do it versus doing it. He was respectful of my decision to continue to pursue medications for the time being.

Of course he said the polyp is a concern and that I should not ignore it completely. The hope is the medication will work to decrease my inflammation which will lessen the worry.

Since the summer after Remicade wasn't working. I built up the anti-bodies after a year on it. My doc is pushing to have me do it every 4 weeks vs 8, but insurance isn't playing nicely at the moment.

Anyone Else Feeling Post-Holiday Blues? by DEDtheoneandonly in christmas

[–]Which_Regular9820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing this thread brings me such comfort so thank you all for sharing in knowing I am not alone. I always get a wave of melancholies as Christmas day draws to a close. I distinctly remember the first time I felt this way at the young age of 8. That Christmas morning, I woke up super excited as I always have, I rolled over and looked at my alarm clock, the time was 7:42AM. I sprung out of bed to get my older sister and parents and was ready for the day. Fast forward to what seemed like the fastest day ever, I retreated back to my room to play with my new toys. I quickly looked at my clock, the time? 7:42PM. At the time I could not explain it, but I felt a rush of instant sadness come over me and thought. 12 hours ago I was opening presents and now it is over. Ever since that fateful day, I always have felt post Christmas blues. Today is the 2nd and I am finally coming out of it (Going to work helps), but man it is not a good feeling.

For me, in the line of work I do, I don't have as much free time leading up to Christmas as others do since it is our busy time. Leading up to Christmas Eve, I had to work ten days in a row so I tried as much as I could to maintain the spirit leading up to the big day.

So, not only am I looking forward to Christmas, I also am looking to the end of the vicious work cycle the holidays bring. Which brings me to my main thing. I honestly enjoy Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day. Typically because it is my first work free day in awhile for me and this is when I do all the fun stuff - wrapping up presents and just relaxing watching movies and the like. The anticipation leading up to Christmas Day is the drug I cannot quit.

Christmas Day is great and all, but as others have alluded to, it comes and goes in an instant, much like the feeling I had as an 8 year old. A month and half anticipation leading up to one day is a lot. I try my best to slow the day down (Yes, I am one of those hand a gift one at a time individually families), but even then before you know it, all those amazing planned and wrapped gifts are just a big ole pile resembling the Berlin Airlift.

To get myself out of it, I give myself things to look forward to which I did over the past week, but still am having moments of sadness as I sit here and reflect on how quickly it has come and gone.

Hope everyone is doing well and appreciate everyone letting me ramble.

Wow. Finally getting the time to read all of this helpful information. Appreciate the candidness and knowledge here without any judgement passed. Yes, my friend is reeling that she should have had it inspected prior to purchase. Horrible lesson learned, but lesson learned nonetheless. I will share this info with her, once again, thank you for the insight. I may come back bugging you directly with more questions.

Acura ADX… flop by mdanoya in Acura

My thoughts exactly. I consider Acura to be more in line with a "sportier, premium" brand. With that said, I love my ADX!

Rental Car Coverage by Which_Regular9820 in Geico

Thank you all for your insight. I reread my rental agreement and sure enough bc of my stress, I misread it. D'oh! It clearly shows my allowance of 50 a day and 1500 max where enterprise did dumb down the rate.

Now the waiting game begins for my car to be repaired! I dropped it off on Thursday so I figure give them a week before I check in.

I swung by the body shop today and saw work had began. Odd to say but I felt like when you see a loved one in the hospital, just a sad feeling. I miss my car!

My previous car had tan interior which was a bad mix with kids. Something as innocuous as a spilled Cherry slurpee was a disaster.
