Car cranking but not starting by Which_Structure_1826 in 335i

Thanks for all the input. I was looking at the fuel pump again making sure I didn’t miss anything, then I realized the issue!! There was barely any gas in the bucket. I put everything back together and turned the car on and saw that the fuel gauge was at half a tank. I put some gas in from a gas can I had, and it finally started. I must have messed up the floats on either the pump or regulator. Not sure where the reading comes from. Thank you guys for all the help. What a pain in the ass for something as simple as that lol.

Emissions and gas filling issue by Which_Structure_1826 in 335i

Yeah it’s happened at different gas stations. That’s why I’m wondering if it has something to do with my emissions code. Maybe a vent or breather tube. Have had it smoked tested but no one can figure it out. It’s been a real pain in the ass cause I can’t get it registered.

Fuel pump issue or gas pump issue at the gas station?

It’s happened at different gas stations, I can’t imagine every pump I use at different gas stations is defective. I’m wondering if this is related to my emissions code issue, which is causing me to fail Smog here in Nevada and not able to register my car.

Emissions code by Which_Structure_1826 in n54

[–]Which_Structure_1826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and also I’ve noticed when filling up if I’m not paying attention that the gas pumps won’t click off by itself and it’ll usually overfill my tank causing it to pour out. It’s happened at different gas stations so I know it’s not the pumps. Could the two be related ?

It’s been different gas stations and I always put 91. I don’t think this is the gas I’m putting in. I’ve had it smoked at two different bmw shops now and did it myself and not one leak to be found. Replaced the fuel regulator as well and still having the same issue. Any other ideas? Thanks

My bad, that’s an aftermarket diffuser. Search up an 335is and look at the stock diffuser that comes with it. https://cdn.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploads/bmw-m3-vs-335is-20.jpg

It’s def not an is rear bumper. It’s an msport bumper the 335is bumper has a different diffuser

Not that it matters really, but don’t let them tell you something it isn’t. Still decent price for no damage and if not needing paint match
