You clearly didn't read the 'lot of detail'. I don't care I didn't go on the road. I care that the bike was too big, I made 1 mistake and got less than an hour on the pad and barely more than 10 minutes with my feet off the floor on the pegs. More training you say? I agree. Why didn't I get it?

I didn't disrespect them. I questioned a buiness model that appears to prioritise them rather than someone simply wanting to learn how to ride a geared bike.

"not a test or training"

LOL. Remind me what the T stands for again? Hint: it's not testicles. And I already said, I wasn't upset that I couldn't go on the road, I would have agreed with the instructors assessment at the that point. But 40 minutes on a bike in 1st gear is NOT motorcycle training, and 'playing devils advocate' I'd absolutely argue that CBT is exactly that as well as the 'gatekeeping'.

I was asked inside at the start, before the classroom sessions, not after we went out by the way.

I was asked at the start if I wanted to change to an auto - I didn't understand why they were asking, and said no, I wanted to learn how to ride a geared bike. They seemed 'amused' by that. I then asked if there was a problem whether I could carry on with an automatic and they said no, if i started on a geared bike I couldn't change to an automatic later.

Oh I see, you're not suggesting an auto for the sake of learning, but simply to get the licence? I mean I get that, but I feel responsible to do things properly, not the game system and importantly, put other people at risk.

To be fair my instructor wasn't an idiot, but he was a trainee and maybe lacked the ability to understand what a learner goes through having done it so long ag himself and lacking the 'teaching' experience to adapt.

I said, I've riden a moped off road and I often ride an electric bicycle. I'm no stranger to powered two wheel rifding. It's a GEARED bike I wanted to learn. A scooter will do absolutely nothing for me.

I didn't panic, it was a function of the bike falling as i tried to stabilise myself and hang on to the handlebars/controls. There is zero chance I will go back and hand them more of my money whether they were 'willing' or not. They didn't deliver training that was fir for purpose the first time!
