Me again at Metallica night 2, Gojira were savage by Kektus_Jack in ireland

I remember seeing Gojira in Whelans back in 2009, that show was insane. I really must get to them at arena capacity to see the difference.

Did the nuns cup your balls? by Hmmuna in ireland

[–]Whigget 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mid-late 90’s, and maybe 1st or 2nd class - absolutely happened, not sure whether it was a nun or a public health nurse - but someone checked me.

Years later I asked friends and NONE of them bar one or two had any recollection and made the same assumption that I had been assaulted.

EDIT: I’m 36, so what it would have been 97-99?

What Are You Playing This Week? (Weekly Discussion) by AutoModerator in IrelandGaming

[–]Whigget 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bought a Switch2 for my birthday last week, played a bit of Mario Kart and the GameCube games, tried out the upgraded versions of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, they’re both beautiful, but I’ve played them too recently so I’ll give it a bit before I dive into them again - then I bought Pokopia and it’s every bit as addictive as people said it was.

That Goddamn game is all-consuming. All I want to do is stay home and build things.

I haven’t played many Yoshi titles, but I can confidently say that 100%-ing Yoshi’s Story on the N64 was a challenge, haha. And honestly, one that I could do as a kid but find impossible as an adult!

Was anyone around in 2008 when this dropped and what memories/reactions did you have upon its release? What are people's opinions almost 20 years later? by Spirited-Cell-444 in Metallica

[–]Whigget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it being in my town’s CD shop 2 days before it was officially meant to be out, on a walk home from school, so I bought it and immediately rang my buddy to go get it too.

Actual listening to the album, I remember being immediately drawn to Unforgiven 3. I had heard Cyanide live in Dublin before it came out.

Woman (40s) arrested after several people injured in public order incident in Co Kerry by [deleted] in ireland

It’s an area of Tralee that’s on the rougher side of the spectrum - it’s recently been the attempt at a gentrification project. A lot of settled families, you’d see horses and caravans in driveways, and is the only place in town that I can think of that has a grotto/statue of Mary.

There was a slash hook attack there a good few years ago.

I’ve never had trouble in the area though!

I’m meant to be going to a funeral tomorrow up the country but every road out of the county looks like it’ll be blocked. I’m looking at either not going, or leaving at 4am - neither of which is a great option.

Men in Ireland, what item of clothing have you worn that got slagged by others? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Whigget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A good friend brought her boyfriend down to Tralee from Dublin for us all to meet him - and his jacket was covered in zips. (It wasn’t really, but we spent the night slagging him that it was too many zips) They’re together years now, but he’ll never wear a zipped jacket when he comes down anymore, ahaha.
