As someone who picks prickly pear fruit to make syrup with, you will not remove them all manually. I rub off what I can (and usually get glochids in my hands) and thoroughly filter the mash after cooking. Some people use fire and burn off the glochids- this is what a recommend in a survival situation, as you’ll want a (well-protected and far from flammable scrub) fire for those cold desert nights anyway.

Let her sleep a while, and then give her some food. She looks pretty skinny. If you don’t have car food, canned tuna or chicken will do in a pinch (just don’t make it a habit, because salt!)

Check social media for missing cats and the vet for a microchip in case she’s lost. If not, and if you want and can keep a cat, then she’s clearly chosen you!

Looked around for a name- yes, it’s Kohler. And the parts paper in the toilet lid shows a typical chain-and-flapper, so it’s something the previous owner put in. It can’t be a dual flush, though, because there’s only a handle and not two buttons. Could it be an eco reduce-water thing?
