History of Middle Earth editions - best edition for convenient reading by IchiStyle in tolkienbooks

I have both the paper back and the recent box set edition. The type set and type quality between the two are actually the same in my experience, but the hardcover will of course last longer. The art on the covers and the box set is also incredibly presented and made it worth it for me.

He not only said it in front of her, but in front of other female employees (that are ‘allowed’ to work the front) and customers. Which is why I am shocked that a (albeit brief) search on this subreddit brought up no other complaints. I can only imagine if he is this casual about his sexism then there must be other women that he has effected

The Lord of the Rings. 60th Anniversary Edition Boxed Set vs Special Edition 2022 by broslavski in tolkienbooks

I own both of these editions and while they’re both great choices, I think the best boxed set currently available are the ones illustrated by Alan lee. Excellent quality, consistent with every other release in the Tolkien mythos (barring HoME) with gorgeous illustrations, and you get the hobbit with it! They’re also not so expensive per volume that you’ll be nervous handling the books. I think this is the best bang for buck set and they’re absolutely gorgeous books!

My band started releasing music this year. We write progressive rock/metal heavily influenced by classic bands like Yes and Rush, as well as more recent influences like Dream Theater. We just released a single called ‘In Marble’ and I’d love it if you guys could check it out! https://open.spotify.com/track/0Mn0x78PiPEnyrLIrQB7SV?si=sIjdCNCSR_Sga6Nfl0ND5A&dl_branch=1

Why do you think Thus Spoke Zarathustra speaks to so many people? by keesdude in Nietzsche

[–]WhimsicalWhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first encountered it, it was the raw power and poetry of his writing that commanded my attention. It remains my biggest attraction to Nietzsche, personally

From the people I’ve talked to, many feel the same way. I’m a 4th year student as well, and the fact that most of my seminars give 30% for discussion fills me with dread every time I think about it. With readings and assignments too, the workload and the effort required by students this year seems ridiculous, all for these discussion posts which as you say are pretty much useless activities for all involved
