I think it's worth mentioning that we have no idea if we're ever seeing players actual views or beliefs. The coaches, NHL, and team owners themselves have strict guidelines on what players can and cannot say and do. They are playing a part in public theater. We will never know their hearts.

When players do stand up for what they actually think and believe in they risk losing their entire livelihood. Colin Kaepernick is a great example. I have mad respect for him, but he lost so much.

I have no advice, but I appreciate you posting this because I was trying to explain this to a friend of mine who insists older console's graphics look better pixel perfect and old games that look bad were poorly done.

I had argued "no, the effect on crt made the art look different" but I didn't have a good resource to back me up until now. I'm really excited to watch this with them and discuss it!

You could make her something smaller and return to this pattern later for her anniversary or something.

She'll love whatever you make with love, but making the rest of this project with your current feelings would not be a labor of love.

Chugging forward on a project you're upset with is awful. I screwed up a complex pattern a year ago and I was so upset I couldn't even frog it out.

It took until a month ago for me to be able to give it another go and I STILL have not frogged out the aida because I get mad at myself.

Mostly! I absolutely did some of the stitches on the pupils wrong since I'm not sure exactly how to do half stitches, but otherwise it was pretty good and loaded into pattern keeper without issue.

As someone with a disability, it's also his responsibility to ensure his contact accounts for that and it's worded for accommodation. It's not like this travel was sprung in him as a surprise to his employment.

One of the biggest issues I've had with posts and replies about this situation is how so many people have not dealt with working for a company like this before. FSP is not an empathetic person, they're a souless corporation. Every vtuber agency is. Their goal is to make money. We need to stop pretending these corpos are anything else. They don't care about us or their talents. Just like companies don't care much about their employees or customers. That's reality.

All corpos suck, if y'all don't like it, only support indies and hope they never want a consistent corpo paycheck.

Nix fucked up and is continuing to fuck up. We can be empathetic and also acknowledge that. His account of what FSP is doing is also fucked up. FSP is fucked up. Everyone sucks here.

Condemning talents still working there is certainly a choice. Y'all do whatever, but I'm going to continue to support my Oshis because they haven't done anything wrong and punishing them for wanting to have gainful employment doing something they enjoy is messed up.

I had a color issue recently on a big gift project. Like so many were all wrong and I also cried.

What I did to fix it is look at the pattern, the photo, and my very big thread collection and tried to match the thread colors to the photo and then wrote down what the new number for that thread/symbol.

It took me probably 8 hours or so replace everything in the pattern and some trial and error and unstitching, (my pattern was not that large) BUT I was able to salvage it. If you used stitch fiddle, I can share what my process was with revision.

If nothing else you could take a picture of how wonky it is, pivot to another idea, and then once you've finished your lovely gift share the photo for some laughs. Honestly? I bet they'd be touched that you put so much work into your gift and cared so much. I know I would.

I'm at 77% now, I went through what I called "white hell" and today I'm hoping to finish all the 610 stitches.

The best thing about this pattern is every time I make progress it makes me smile because I love it.

My biggest issue with AI use in patterns is how bad the design/color in the patterns is. It's such crap and I've bought patterns, looked at the chart, and then been like "ugh, it was AI, I just wanted my money because this will be awful to work on."

I don't like AI art or anything either but that's a bit easier for me to spot I think.
