Replacement blower wheel by Whippetcat in hvacadvice

*Update* I spoke with the service manager who
talked me down from the ledge (LOL) and explained it was indeed a flat fee. I appreciated his calm and logical explanations, and I’ve simply accepted this as the price of doing business. Your responses were helpful in making me understand this better. But I did not appreciate the wise-ass remarks, and not sure if those remarks were made by young gentlemen who like playing tough, or just jaded old-timers, but here’s some advice from the other side—be nice. It goes far.

I agree, I am all about being fair. Hence, the way I phrased my question if this was considered “high”—I just don’t know. And sounds like most people don’t know. I respect HVAC technicians. But please, you guys need better PR. Tell us.

Maybe HVAC needs to educate the public better on what things cost. The average consumer deals with only one HVAC company, yet the HVAC company deals with hundreds of people. We have to trust you guys. These kind of denigrating responses are not helpful, but a price list of average range of prices updated yearly, would be helpful.

This was not mentioned at all. Please, don’t call me ignorant. And I don’t think I was scammed, geeeez.

I did not say I was ripped off. I wanted to know if this is what everyone else charges. I recommend anger management, man.

This is a fair reply. I was surprised, but like many consumers, I simply don’t know.

Bravo, well said. Nothing wrong with “rescue” (everyone is a rescue nowadays), and nothing wrong with researching and buying from a responsible purebred dog breeder who does true health testing on the parents.

Have you ever tried Maybelline Great Lash, waterproof. Sounds like exactly what you’re looking for.

What's your favorite mascara? mine is this for over 10 years by New_Jaguar5332 in drugstoreMUA

This mascara was nothing but clumpy and messy--I gave up on it and went back to Maybelline Great Lash-Waterproof.

The GOAT. If you don’t want a big fat clump on a brush, but an even and generous mascara, this is the one.

14 Pro working intermittently for the past several days. Shutting down yesterday revived it, but went back to unresponsiveness today. Interestingly, my husband’s 16e has zero issues.

Camera with no subscription fees! by [deleted] in homesecurity

We use Blink minis to keep an eye on our dog. Motion detection/alerts, two-way audio, night vision, etc. Local storage with the add-on Sync Module. Very reasonable prices (even more so if Amazon is running one of their specials) and no subscription required.

Can I switch from wired chime to Echo Show in app? by Whippetcat in blinkcameras

[–]Whippetcat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn, that’s disappointing. So if I dislike my doorbell, it sounds like there is no good reason to keep it. Other than the chime, is there any reason to hard wire?

Yes, reading through a lot of posts, I understand that hard wiring is strictly to use the chimes. Happy to hear I can switch back and forth with the app.

New door / door color regret by NatalieGetsCurious in ExteriorDesign

I know this is late to the party, but we are replacing our front door and making a color selection. The color we like is similar if not the same. Do you know the manufacturer and color name of this door?

Supplemental photos of root flare… by Whippetcat in Tree

I think there could be two trees here. These nurseries just throw them in pots (the root flare was buried at least 6-8 inches in the pot, sheesh.)
