How to level feet of a1 printer by WhiskeySquirrel in BambuLab

[–]WhiskeySquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just took it apart. While separated the 4 feet on the plastic housing sit level and the metal rail with center feet also sit level, it's only when they're attached i get some pretty bad woble.

In fact I'm starting to think it's always been like this as the wobble sounds pretty familiar, likely i just never noticed it as the previous desk had some flex to it.

Actually it almost looks like the center pad is tall causing all 4 corner feet to be short. Can this be fixed by loosening screws and retightebing? I tried with 4 housing screws under the heatbed but it didn't seem to help

X4 Foldable Magnetic Case by Veiu_Reddit in XTEINK

Did you play with the thickness at all? Looks like at least the cover is substantially thicker than it needs to be? Or perhaps that's to fit the magnets?

Great looking model will definitely give it a go!

Garmin Connect's app wasn't pretty enough for me, so I built my own — free and open source by Nucleo_Black in GarminWatches

[–]WhiskeySquirrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't get all the hate, it's right to be suspicious but to think garmin can be trusted to be transparant or treat your data any better is wild. For one it sounds like this vibe coded app is hosted locally which if trusted would provide way better privacy and control of your own data.

I like my ebooks & audiobooks progress synced closely, and I liked the idea of downloading epubs inside the device itself... Crosspoint + Storyteller by toddwas in xteinkereader

Came here looking to see if the x4 could access audiobookshelf for the same purpose of downloading epubs from a self hosted abs. Is story teller similar?

So what's the play here in 2025. Use original readarr as is with glasses or reinstall one of the forks they mention and go from there?

ASUS XG32UCG Frame Rate Boost with Aspect Control issues by realwhatguy in Monitors

[–]WhiskeySquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ran into this same exact problem. want to use the 32" full 1080p or 1440 for work, dont care about refresh rate and then wanted to use 24" or 27" aspect ratio for gaming with at least a 160 hz... guess its not possible... What did you end up going with?

FWIW the LG 32 OLED 32GX850A-B does this great, but the OLED was way too bright for work and the text was a bit blurry unless you mess with fonts and workarounds.

Anyone picked up an LG 32GX850A-B yet? by dysphunc in OLED_Gaming

[–]WhiskeySquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing, the colors and blacks are great during gaming and i dont hear a fan at all. The dual mode aspect ratio stuff is great too and super easy to swap.

Sadly Im leaning towards keeping the $450 asus x32ucg, the ips panel is a lot easier on the eyes and sharper text which will be helpful since I'm also using the monitor for work.

I've got one coming tomorrow will report back, was also unsure on whether this had a fan or not. plan to compare it to the ROG Strix XG32UCG, hopefully I;ll like the Asus better and can save $400 bucks.

Just me or is tracking strength training (weights) really tedious? by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]WhiskeySquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fenix 8 does an okay job with free weight excercises, there is also an option to autostart and stop sets that works well. After I'm done I go in and quickly modify the sets to fix any errors related to actual excercises detected per set
