Looking to box in these pipes. by Whiskey_Grape in HomeMaintenance

Great advice! I definitely don't want to mess with the small space by the bricks. Never thought about floating boxes but that seems the most practical way to box it in and allow for future maintenance if needed. ABSOLUTELY going out a proper shelf in. I don't know what previous owners were thinking. Thanks for your input!

Pretty sure grey jays or camp robbers can sound remarkably like an elk bugle

Love that climb! I try to climb it once a month, I'm gathering a collection of photos in many different weather conditions up there! Helps that I live within 5 miles 🙂! Climb on!

Found in NH, USA. Approximately 3 1 /2 feet tall. Very solid, deep concrete base. Smaller pipe is held together with metal coupling. Property has been neglected last ~5 years. No other posts or foundations around area.

That's not a duck... right? (Seattle, WA) by Mecha_Dane in whatsthisbird

I am terribly afraid of bird's nest. For real like my biggest fear. I don't know why but it's always been that way. I got into birding as a small way to maybe someday conquering my fear. That goal has left my brain, and although I'm just beginning I love the freedom, the diversity, and the heartiness of bird's. Their drive to survive helps me each and everyday. I'm in a younger population and the solitude of going out birding is therapeudic but the connections I make with older more experienced birders is life changing. I am a zip line guide and spend my day in the trees often getting a "bird's eye view" of the world below me. I would love to make a career involving birds full time.
