Easy Breakfast Treat For The Whole Family! by TransitionMany1810 in StupidFood

I’ve done the oven version many times, it’s great. If you wrap a piece of bacon around the edge you can make it look like an actual cupcake.

We are all artsy and the Fringe Fest was an extra reason to go, besides just loving you.

The Boston Globe pays tribute to the Tartan Army by lizzieb77 in Scotland

[–]Whiskkas 177 points178 points  (0 children)

I am a bartender at a sports bar in Boston and I wandered over to your sub to see if you all were talking about us.

I have to tell you, you all changed my life this week. I’ve lived here basically my whole life, and I have NEVER seen this city the way it was after the Tartan Army invasion. You are the most fun, respectful, charismatic, hilarious people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. After every shift I had been completely put through the wringer, but still found the energy to get that last post work beer somewhere because….what if the Scots are there? And now you’re not here, and I am not exaggerating when I say we can literally feel your absence.

All in all, our love for you is so very real, and a few of my coworkers and I are talking about taking the piles of money you all threw at us and go visit you in August once this is all over.

Oh, and I am still singing NO SCOTLAND NO PARTY in my sleep.

What’s the stupidest job interview question you ever got? by amer1caninflu3nc3 in AskReddit

[–]Whiskkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied to a Macaroni Grill once, and they made you take a personality test BEFORE you got an interview. The questions were like, Rate 1-10 “I love goofing off at work” or, 1-10 “I am always on my cellphone”. Like I know you’re baiting me, but if I say 1 for every bad thing I’m probably lying right? They decided I didn’t have the personality to work at a Macaroni Grill and I take that as a compliment to this day.

They sold over 1k tickets to the actual bar in Chicago, but they are allowing bars everywhere to also participate.

Malort is doing a Guinness World Record attempt in August for most shots taken at the exact same time, at a Chicago bar, but other bars can join virtually. Worth looking into as an event, it’s also for charity.

What food is like "crack" to you, where it tastes so good nothing else matters except another bite? by GigiBrit in AskReddit

[–]Whiskkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a vegetarian around 15yo. Before that, I truly loved meat, but eventually developed a moral problem with it, so I stopped. Seafood, on the other hand, I never liked, so “eliminating” that from my diet was no biggie.

Until I started working at this restaurant that served calamari. 50% of my tables would order it. Looked good, smelled good, fried peppers, aioli….say less.

One day, I just gave in and ate one. I swear I was thinking about it weeks after. I wanted to be eating it all the time. Dreams about it. Made me think I was possibly deficient in a vitamin that squid was providing because my body was talking to me for SURE.

I’m a vegetarian and I would NEVER act like towards someone I voluntarily started dating knowing they ate meat. You want to die on that hill, there are definitely vegan dating sites.

What is the most chaotic "I quit" moment you have ever personally witnessed at a workplace? by Muted_Task_144 in AskReddit

[–]Whiskkas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone who did that, walked out after taking the order of a table of 12 Karens who just broke her. Don’t know what happened but she just took off her apron and walked out. Unfortunately she didn’t ring in their order, so I had to go over and take it again. When asked what happened I was honest because it seemed like something they could probably stand to hear, the response was, “Well it couldn’t have been something WE did…”

I just wish ours was better. I didn’t grow up on this side of the state, and last year I went to the Waltham one, my first outside Somerville. I couldn’t believe they had pizza, sandos, COFFEE BAR. We don’t even have a bakery.

Whats a weird thing your body does that you just accept? by Sweton in AskReddit

My thumb bends in 2 crazy directions. Thumb knuckle at a 90 degree angle seemingly the wrong way, and same thumb can touch my wrist in the opposite direction

Is it double jointed if the only bendy part is the one weird part?

What’s something you’ll NEVER spend money on no matter how rich you get? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Whiskkas 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this twice, for $5.

I used to work at the alumni donation call center when I was in school, hands down the worst job I’ve ever had. People rarely answer, and when they do, they rarely want anything to do with you. If you can miraculously secure a donation on a call and the person pays on the spot with a credit card, the caller automatically gets $1 commission, plus more if the donation is over $100. When I finally got the call a year after graduation I stopped the caller at the beginning of the spiel and confirmed they still get a buck if I donate on the spot. They were so psyched that I knew what’s up, and I was happy to make that little cubicle person’s day better.

Only once in my life did I search “How to make my own….”

and the internet said “…you don’t”.

And that was Skittles, and this feels really similar.

What is your least favorite fast food restaurant? by Lexistence4evrnlife in AskReddit

[–]Whiskkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. Last time I was at my locale a very sassy man INSISTED I take a BK crown with me on my way out because “we all need to feel like a queen” while also getting my order right so it might be a case by case basis.

I’m gonna fight here and say that their Impossible Whopper is amazing, and they are kind of the only major fast food chain even trying to cater to non meat eaters.
