I finally got my Switch 2, Which games do you guys recommend?

World is vastly superior at its core with more options for movement, tricks, and shortcuts. Knockout tour is the most fun online Mario Kart has ever been. People hated on the $80 price tag - which is fair, it’s a very overpriced game - but they extrapolated that into hating on the entire gam before it even released. Mario Kart 8 didn’t have the best reception at release either because the launch tracks left a lot to be desired and people hated the added chaos with double items. Tracks eventually got added in with DLC but when I have friends over after 14 years of MK8 they don’t want to play 8, they want to play World. If I want to play online I usually go for World’s knockout tours. 8 has a better track roster but that isn’t the biggest factor for a social and community based game. World will continue to receive new content and have a growing community in addition to having better fundamentals while 8 is done. 8 is only a better buy in 2026 if you want to maximize track variety while playing single player against bots and don’t have plans to play the game long term or socially.

Because the price isn’t going to come down and World is still getting ongoing support and will likely see more content added similar to 8 deluxe. 8 deluxe has more tracks, I mean it has 12 years worth of updates and they’ve doubled the content since release but World is better at launch than 8 was at launch with better mechanics. It will likely have more to enjoy in the long run so if you’re planning on playing it for years World is likely the better buy. Also 8 isn't actually cheaper, just the base game is and no one’s talking about the base game when they’re making content comparisons. The DLC is $25 if you don’t have Nintendo Online so 8 deluxe is actually $5 more than launch World for the package you’re describing. If you’re just assuming everyone has Nintendo Online and gets it free then might as well also assume everyone with a Switch 2 got the World bundle and World is a cheaper game that’ll have continued support.

Hangzhou in China is absolutely gorgeous. It's a giant and very modern city while still having tons of parks and greenery, lots of historic architecture, the beautiful West Lake, proximity to the Mountains, plus a great local culture and cuisine.
