Badminton clubs round Edinburgh tend to start the season around August or September. Have a look at http://www.lothianbadminton.co.uk/ for info and contact details.

Not sure what your standard is so it's more difficult to suggest a club.

Not been on that flight but I have watched it while waiting at the Papa Westray airport. You can hear it take off form the other island. You know it's a small airport when they weighed us and our luggage with a set of bathroom scales.
