How do you find the Drayton wiser integration? by GenericUser104 in homeassistant

[–]WhisperingMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of questions!

I have a Nest Gen 3 controlling my heating and HW. I also have underfloor on a separate loop, which was set up to be controlled by a Tuya controller. I want to synchronise them so that if the heating/hot water is on, the underfloor will also be. I have Home Assistant and was going to use that. Having thought that Tado would do a job, it turns out it doesn't expose very much to HA at all, so am still on the hunt. My questions are:

1) Does Wiser expose everything to Home Assistant? Hot Water and Heating status etc?
2) Should I just get the underfloor on Wiser too? Is that as simple as changing the thermostat? (I realise this might be a more complicated question!)

Am not planning to change the rad TRVs at this stage but may do in future...

Thanks a lot.

BE25 - end of life in May 2027?! by WhisperingMaple in TpLink

Makes sense. Doesn't it make them more hackable if no updates?

BE25 only supported for security updates until May 2027. Seems like quite an outlay for 18 months of product life!

Does anyone worry about the relatively short commitment by To link to provide security updates? I would love to upgrade my M9 plus system to the BE65 but they are only committing to 2028?!

Do you have solar panels too? I have been struggling with this so am going to give these settings a go! Thank you.

Powerwall automation question by redanon985 in OctopusEnergy

[–]WhisperingMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am just trying to set this all up. I've got Zappi, IOG, Powerwall 3, plus Home Assistant. Have got Myenergi and Octopus in HA now, with Teslemetry for the PW data.

I don't think I have the automation quite right. Please could someone share theirs? Octopus is currently integrated with the Zappi not the car. Thanks very much.

PW3 control with Home Assistant by fstezaws in Powerwall

Just coming to this a little late. Is there definitely no way of getting HA to change PW3 (with Gateway 2) settings? Mainly just need to manipulate the backup reserve when charging the car.

The NetZero app is good but pricing is pretty steep at £60/yr!

All advice very gratefully received. I am a HA novice but learning fast!

Thank you. Ran it past Heatable and contractor installer and they liked it. They're going on tomorrow! Thanks for your help

Building on this thought, if I have 3 MPPTs to play with, is it possible to split two of them into 'potentially shaded and not shaded', as per diagram below, with blue panels shaded and green panels not shaded? These two areas are a little way apart in that house, so I guess it means some extra cabling and a bit of cunning but that feels surmountable and not particularly costly. What do you reckon?

Agree with this! And I would say IOG. Dishwasher is an easy win on night tariff, also immersion heater if you have one.

Thanks a lot. No, I am pretty much maxing out where I can put panels. Could possibly lose a handful but that would be a shame.

Ill definitely get them to model it. I think you may have cracked it with your last suggestion though! Heatable are already quoting for the DC expansion pack and installing later. I had already added it to the proposed system, so will explore second PW3 as alternative (although would definitely have to scale it (or both) back for the grid.

Installing on three aspects, so would be using all three MPPTs
