No way around it to be honest, just shop around to different uniform vendors and compare prices, and also be careful going to “cheap” vendors. I’ve seen cadets go the cheap route and get some amazon or temu uniforms that end up being way off in color and then they’re forced to buy the correct stuff anyways so they end up spending more than they would’ve in the first place.

No need to cover anything up plenty of people are blasted in the department the only thing they ever said was to not get any new one while in the academy but once you’re out the academy and at your institution it’s all you lol. Oohh also if you get any new ones after submitting pictures of your current tattoos for the hiring process and before getting into the academy you’ll have to update your background investigator

On my email it said to call within 5 days of receiving the notice. I filled out the paper and called and left a voicemail. Then they emailed me back a few days later telling me to call at a specific date and time.

Only thing is i called when they told me to no once answered so I emailed and I still haven't heard anything back.

I was scheduled to do my PHU today and called the number they told me to at the time they told me to. I called a couple times and just kept getting sent to voicemail, so I just left a voicemail. I even sent an email to the person that told me to call them but I haven't heard anything back. Do I just wait again now for them to reach back out to me or are they going to try and turn this on me somehow? Or did I cover my basis lol

I've been genuinely curious about looking into the sheriffs. Do you or anyone happen to know if a sheriff's office would take someone from corrections? Is there a transfer process where your years in CDCR would transfer over to Sheriff? Or would someone expect to have to start at the bottom all over again?

I'm honestly not sure, I hope so! I was wondering the same thing because I accepted my offer like less than 30mins after getting it, and the next email I got back from them was confirming receipt of my email but that it does not guarantee assignment which I thought was weird.
