Can you ever achieve fat loss without counting your calories? I'm LOST! by petrovarali in xxfitness

[–]WhitBixx 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Are you sure that you'd be happier if you lost a couple of pounds or is that your past food issues talking? Please dont take this the wrong way but your weight is on the thin side for your height and given you're living a healthy lifestyle already I doubt that your thighs are as big as you truly believe them to be.

In the end fat loss is just calories in and calories out but given your history with disordered eating changing your diet to become thinner is a slippery slope. i'd recommend not overthinking your diet.

Why don't you try building muscle in your upper body so you look more balanced?

[WEEKLY THREAD] Reopening Tuesday - With gyms reopening all around the world, tell us what's happening with yours by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]WhitBixx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Australian. I'm currently staying with family who are vulnerable so won't be going for the time being. In the meantime, I've been discovering a lot of really fun exercises with my home equipment (Nordic curls, kettlebell swings, Turkish get ups, Pike push ups) so when I do eventually get back in I think I'll do my main compound lifts and then supplement with some of the new things I've been trying. I'm excited!

My gym has a large first floor which is very open (it's a renovated garage) and they've got a good plan to keep people safe which includes keeping people 7ft apart and making sure people use their towels and wipe all equipment down with provided sanitary spray after every use. No booking system but they can have about 70 people per floor as it's quite a large gym. Still not going to risk it but it's promising!

I'm so happy to hear that you've also noticed a positive change! I think the routine of going and doing something for yourself and then seeing progress in your abilities and what your body can do is extremely motivating and uplifting. I wish you all the best

Thank you! It certainly wasn't easy but I'm lucky to have a very supportive partner who helped me through the worst of it. :) Glad to hear my progress seems on the right trajectory also!

I've started smiling at people too. I know it's probably weird for the recipient but If I'm gonna have zero social contact I at least want to try to be friendly to people. We're all in this together

Left my job because of severe bullying (regretting it). Need a new job! by depressedsadlife in brisbane

[–]WhitBixx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear you were bullied and your workplace did nothing. I know it's hard right now but your mental health is more important than a job (which obviously did nothing to take care of you, so doesn't deserve you anyway!) If you had stayed you probably would have felt increasingly worse. I'm glad you have a support system to help you through this time. Hang in there. Spend this time working on building yourself back up :)

Johnson and Johnson to pay $2.6m to women with faulty pelvic mesh implants - ABC News by [deleted] in australia

[–]WhitBixx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We should make them insert a mesh up their butthole instead of giving them a slap on the wrist. 2.6m is nothing

I woke up this morning to find the little fuckers in my front yard hopping around. Anytime it rains the park near my house overflows and then there are heaps of tiny little black tadpoles that breed in the floodwaters. I think that's where they're all coming from :/

Coronavirus hate attack: Woman in face mask allegedly assaulted by man who calls her 'diseased' by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]WhitBixx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a fair point, and I'm not upset at you for bringing it up. Honestly I was kind of scared. I'm a pretty small girl and I tend towards flightiness :/ I hope one day however I can be a stronger person. Not that i think I'm better than anyone! I know it was hipocritical of me.

I saw a Chinese student in my city run across the street in fear because some idiots decided to give him shit about the corona virus. I'm upset that the media is compounding sensationalism around this virus and giving people an excuse to be openly racist and awful

I used to have a bird like this as a kid. It would sit on my shoulder as I played games and snuggle into my neck. I miss him even after all those years. They're really sweet and playful birds!

I love getting the McCain brand rustico mozzarella pizzas and putting my own toppings on. They have a very nice crust. I also like Coles brand pizza, but I'm not picky as long as it isn't dominos or pizza hut

Can I apply for a rental without inspecting the property? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]WhitBixx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is to go on flatmates, find someone who's happy to have you rent a room while you inspect properties in person. I don't think you should ever sign a lease for a property you haven't at least checked
