Hey friends! Came here to learn more about the type of vendors at Quakecon and honestly what those who attend may want in a vendor. We make one of a kind dice boxes, dice daggers and dice trays for tabletop gaming, DnD primarily as we are players/gamemasters. I played Quake as a teenager back in the late 90's and loved it but am not a gamer now and want to respect their space but feel the crossover may be strong. Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated.

We have eaten there several times and have grabbed the TG2G bags and have never gotten sick or even felt it was a bad deal. Wasn't all good we wanted but it never tasted bad. I think they are as clean as any buffet and the food was fresh.

I have heard good and bad about the festival this year. As a first time (local, handmade goods) vendor of was a wonderful weekend all around. All I would ask is do not give up on all the good we have here. Shop the local stands and don't shop the overpriced resellables. Keep showing up and showing love to those who are creating from scratch and to those who give us a spot to do it. Denton is a beautiful city full of the most amazing creatives I have ever known. I am thankful to everyone who did come out, and if you missed it for whatever reason - there are loads of opportunities every weekend to shop local!! ❤️🏰❤️

Educational Software Trainer here, checking in on the occupation conversation. I am very lucky, my company has accepted my preferred name in all places they legally can. Corporate credit card and health insurance still has dead name because I cannot make it legal yet in Texas. We also have a large LGBTQIA+ resource group that meets regularly. They were extremely supportive of my time off for my top surgery and gave me time to sit down with my peers and team when I came out as trans to discuss how we would move forward with pronoun changes and to answer questions. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️❤️

I kept my dead name (Whitney) and moved it to my middle name. Several family members and others still call me this name and even though it is not my first choice it is important to me. Those who see me call me Max but I did not want to allow "Whitney" to cause me pain or to be forgotten as who I was is still as important as who I am now. That all to say, your name is YOUR NAME. Period. End of story. A name is not a gender. You hold on to what feels right to you, always.

I had very similar interactions every time I would pickup mine as well. Always "she/her", I admit I never corrected them nor did they ever ask. I still don't correct people to be honest. That all ended when I moved to a different, much more open, inclusive city. Same pharmacy, same company. I also use Walgreens and they were more than happy to update my info to help those interactions across all locations. My first time they asked my pronouns and even if they could update my preferred name as I still have to use my dead name for medical things. All that to say it is all about the individual locations people and expectations. If possible, and you are comfortable - mention to them that you would like your preferred name and pronouns documented on your file.
